Development of the sequence of activities
During the previous lesson students watched the story called “Rexy went to
the zoo” in order to revise numbers from 1 to 10 and introduce some zoo
animals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zla8yF7rG9I
After singing the numbers song, in order to revise the numbers, colours and
start learning the zoo animals that appear in the story students will be invited
to complete the following sheet. Duration: 20 minutes.
Teacher: Ok children, now, we are going to colour the sheet with the animals
that Rexy saw in the zoo. Do you remember Rexy? Who´s Rexy?..... it´s our
friend the Dino!!! The teacher shows a picture of Rexy.
(The secretary hands out the copies and once they all have one copy the
teacher starts the activity).
Teacher: Now, tell me. This is the first animal Rexy saw. What animal is this?
(Pointing at the bear) Does anyone know? The teacher expects an answer.
Afterwards, she asks: what colours is it in the story?
Kids: Brown!!
Teacher: Yes! Right! It´s a brown bear! So you colour it brown. Once the
students have coloured it the teacher asks: How many bears does Rexy see in
the zoo?
6. Wesing the goodbye song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQfvAlmr5g0

Observations
Dear Pía,
This second plan is better developed in terms of context, since
you have chosen a story children already know.
As for the first song, it could be used in another moment, but it
bears no connection with the topic of the class.
Regardingmaterials, remember you have to includethe source
of the worksheets, and also deviseyour own materials
(flashcards, activities, etc.).
Take these commentsinto account for your next plansand
revisit classroom management(you may reread the examples
in our virtualclassroom).
Best,
Ceci
