data as its input, Process it & give us information as its output.

3. Supercomputers...are used to process very large amounts of information
including processing information to predict hurricanes, satellite images and
navigation, and process military war scenarios.
Mainframes...are used by government and businesses to process very
large amounts of information.
Mini-Computers...are similar to mainframes...they are used by business
and government to process large amounts of information.

Personal Computers...also known as PC’s...are smaller and less
powerful than the others. They are used in homes, schools, and
small businesses.

computer to perform some specific tasks, is called Software.

7. Application software are those software which fulfills the user
requirements.
For example
 Word processors
 Database software
 Graphics software
 Communication software
 Entertainment software/packages

8. System software are those software which fulfills the system
requirements
For example
 OS (Operating System)
 Drivers
 Utilities

9. The Touchable Parts of the computer which have any Physical
or Specific shape, is called Hardware

10. The devices through which we give input to the computer are
called input devices.
For example
 Keyboard
 Mouse
 Mic
 Camera
 Scanner

11. The devices through which the computer gives the information
to its users are called output devices.
For example
 Speaker
 Monitor
 Printer
 Projector
