Forty Ways To Look At Winston Churchill Winston Churchill Cameron Field
Life of Churchill; Condensed Joined the military, risking his life often. 1895-1898 Escaping Boer POW camp alone and unarmed, he submerged into an area with few allies for miles. 1899 He played a large part in the surrender of Germany and Japan(1945) by trying to convince other countries to join the war. Despite losing a previous election, he boldly stood for another election, and was elected Prime Minister in 1951. He urged the rest of Parliament to go to war on the increasingly dangerous Nazi threat. They did not share his view and withheld going to war. However, it was not long until he convinced them that they had to act soon. Despite criticism, he continued to climb to the top of the British Government. He bravely told the people of Britain that they could , if they tried, achieve victory. Even without much support, he continued to press that war was necessary.
Communicator Orange Winston Churchill had amazing verbal skills. Throughout WWII he spoke to the people of Britain, reassuring them that they could find victory. When he learned that the Japanese had bombed Singapore and Hong Kong he politely wrote them a letter informing them that “a state of war existed between their two countries.” Even out of speeches, he remains one of the most quoted people to live. He once said that “ A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality.” These are only a few examples of his communication skills.
Determined RED From birth to death, Churchill was determined to achieve greatness. As a child, he used all of his parents connections to his advantage. When he was in school he would boast that in the high position he would occupy, it would fall to him to “save the Capital and save the Empire.” Throughout his life he would write books to boost he popularity and the main object of his life seemed to be pleasing his father who told him he would amount to nothing. Determined is definitely a term to be applied to him.
Humorous Yellow Despite his serious job, Churchill let loose his humorous side almost all the time. Few topics could escape his prodding. When running for office, he knocked on the door of an irritable man who replied “Vote for you? I’d rather vote for the devil!” Churchill calmly responded “I understand, but in case your friend isn’t running, may I count on your support?” Lady Astor once said to him “Winston, if you were my husband I would put poison in your coffee.” He then said “Madam, if I were your husband I would drink it.” He wasn’t scared of mocking anything political proved by his comment “The United States invariably does the right thing, after having exhausted every other alternative.” Many say that still waters run deep. With Winston Churchill, active waters run deep.
La Casa De Churchill Winston Churchill's perfect room would have, out of necessity, a endless supply of his favorite whiskey. Also, as he was a successful author, a typewriter would be important. One never knows when creativity may strike. A large stock of cigars would be there too. A large bed and a comfortable chair would there among other pieces of furniture. Also necessary is a shooting range for the part of him that was a crack shot. Also important is a art studio as he was an artist. These are things that would make a perfect room for Churchill.
The Churchill persistence award "When you're going through hell, keep going." Winston Churchill 1874-1965 Churchill Churchill valued persistence and determination .
