Napoleon Gomez Urrutia is the President of the National Union of Mine and Metal Workers of the Mexican Republic. As a human rights advocate, Napoleon focuses his work on international solidarity. He is an involved member in various organizations from all over the world that focus on creating a fair and just environment for everyday workers. Napoleon works closely with the Steel Workers Union of the United States and with IndustriaALL Global Union. He has won multiple awards for his dedication to labor rights and human rights. His most notable award was the International Meany-Kirkland Human Rights and Human Dignity Award for standing up for social justice and labor rights in Mexico.
