morning. The bus arrives at our school at 08:45. The bus
ticket costs 16 NOK (2, 04 euro). Sometimes our parents
drop us off to the school.
Most of the students ride a bike to school in the autumn
and in the spring.
7. In the hallway, we take off our shoes. We don’t wear
shoes inside the school as most of us wear socks only
on their feet The school is made of wood.
8. At 08:50 we have a morning assembly. The teachers take turns to hold a
morning meeting. The attendance list is checked.
We pray the Lord’s prayer, read an extract from the Bible and sing
psalms. Then, announcements for the day are made.
When the morning assembly is over at 09:00, we go to the classrooms.

is good, we can go outside and play in the schoolyard. There is a
playground and a football court. But if the weather is bad, we can stay
inside and play games in the gym. “Ungdomsskolen” can be inside in all
the school brakes, except the first one in the morning.
11. At 11:15 everyone at the school has lunch in the cafeteria (kantina).
Before we have lunch we say a grace – we thank God for the food that is
on our tables.
12. Students in Norway take
packed lunch from home.
We usually have in our lunch
boxes: sandwiches with
chocolate spread/ cheese
spread/ liver spread, pizza
slices and some fruit.
13. When the lunch is over and everyone has done eating,
three of the students clean up the lunch room. Three
new cafeteria helpers are chosen every week.

cafeteria to cut fruits.

18. Our school organises many school trips and puts on
many activities and events, e.g. we round up sheep, go
on a camping trip, go fishing, have a carnival and a sun
celebration when the sun appears in the sky after long
polar nights
In February we go skiing.
Here in Norway we all
say that Norwegians are
born with skies on their
feet and that is why we
are a nation of expert
skiiers!!
19. In October we hold Mini

In September we go
orienteering in the wood.
At the camp base, students
are divided into teams and
are given a topographical
map, a control card and
their task is to find the
control posts as fast as
possible.
