Pontedera is a town located in Tuscany, Italy near Pisa. It has a population of around 28,256 people and is crossed by the River Era, which gives the town its name. Some of the notable landmarks in Pontedera include the Cathedral built in neoclassical style between 1840-1864, the Napoleon Bridge built during French rule out of white marble, and the Baj Wall which is a 100m long artwork. The town has a strong economic focus on Piaggio, a major Italian scooter and vehicle manufacturer based there, as well as the chocolate company Amedei.
