Organization means any thing in an
ordered manner.
The act of organizing business activities
through Planning, coordinating,
controlling, directing etc. is known as
Organization.
It give proper work structure to any
business establishment i.e. Organization
Structure.

4. Organizational Mission
It means what is the reason or purpose
of existence of an Organization.
It reflects as “Mission Statement”.
Every Organization has a unique
mission statement.
Example of Mission Statement-
“To provide outstanding lodging facilities and services to
our guest. Focus on individual business and leisure
traveler as well as Group with emphasis on high quality
standards in Rooms and Dining. To provide fair ROI to
our owners by efficient coordination of our Hotel Team”
5. Goal
Further, to achieve the Mission, the must
carried out activities are known as Goal.
Goal is set for each Department individually.
A properly written goal includes an action verb
followed by a specific form of measurement
such as a time interval or a level of quantity,
quality or cost.
For Example: A Hotel’s front office Goal which is
measurable –
“Reduce the number of Guest complaints by 20%”
“Increase the hotel’s average occupancy by 5% as
compared to previous month average”
6. Strategies And Tactics
Strategies i.e. the method of achieving
the goal.
Tactics i.e. how to achieve?
For Example: for one of a Front Office Department’s
Goal – “Operate Front desk efficiently and courteously so
that guest may register within two minutes of Arrival”
Then,
Strategies : “Preregister all expected guests with
guaranteed reservation and assign the room nos. too in
pre-arrival activities”
Tactics: “Preprint the registration card for all such
arriving guests and arrange them in alphabetical order
of there Surname”
7. Hotel as Organization
Hotels also having departments which
coordinates effectively and works
towards achievement of organizational
mission. Thus a Hotel is also an
Organization i.e. Hotel Organization.
