Insomnia
β’ A.The Individual
complains of difficulty
falling asleep
β’ Difficulty maintaining
sleep
β’ Non-refreshing sleep.
5. Personal
Distress
β’ C.The sleep disturbance
results in marked
personal distress or
interferences with
personal functioning in
daily living.
6. No organic
cause
β’ There is no known causative organic factor,
such as
β’ Neurological or
β’ Other medical condition
β’ Psychoactive substance use disorder or a
medication.
β’ Examples include tea, coffee, coke, cannabis,
alcohol, fizzy drinks especially in the evening.
β’ Sleep apnoea, obesity, night shift working.
