Introduction
Hello my pupils! Today I hope you have your creative caps on because they will be needed. As
you know from this week we are focusing on Edgar Allan Poe and a few of his unique works.
Now we all know what makes his works different from other authors. Now it is your turn!
Task
As excited as I know you all are let’s get down to business! As talked about before Edgar Allan
Poe has a very unique writing style. From the works we have read in class we see that his
writings are very dark and scary. Now it is your turn to write your own dark and scary story, and
show off your uniqueness and creativity!
Process
You will re-read The Masque of The Red Death by clicking the link below

After re-reading the story then start brainstorming on some ideas about your own story
Your story must be a 1 page typed double spaced 12 point font
You need to incorporate 1 distinct detail that is from The Masque of The Red Death and
incorporate it into your own story.
What I mean is you can have: A quarantine of people, a masked stranger, colorful rooms, a
clock. Anything that has meaning in the story:
*If it has meaning it is repeated or a significantamount time was put on
describing it* *The detail you pick mustbe obvious that it is from the story and
use one quote describing that detail*
This is YOUR story I want to see your creativity, not your neighbors. I know YOU can do it.

of The Masque of The Red Death
Conclusion
You now without knowing it have analyzed The Masque of The Red Death and picked out a
quote to describe a specific detail. You have realized the importance of being a unique writer
and why we love Edgar Allan Poe’s work. As well as made your own unique work inspired by the
author. Being unique and creative is a great attribute to have as a writer and you have
conquered both of those by writing this assignment! Great Job!

Today I hope you have your creative caps on because they will be needed. As you know from this week we are focusing on Edgar Allan Poe and a few of his unique works. Now we all know what makes his works different from other authors. Now it is your turn! Task As excited as I know you all are let’s get down to business! As talked about before Edgar Allan Poe has a very unique writing style. From the works we have read in class we see that his writings are very dark and scary. Now it is your turn to write your own dark and scary story, and show off your uniqueness and creativity! What I mean is you can have: A quarantine of people, a masked stranger, colorful rooms, a clock. Anything that has meaning in the story: *If it has meaning it is repeated or a significantamount time was put on describing it* *The detail you pick mustbe obvious that it is from the story and use one quote describing that detail* This is YOUR story I want to see your creativity, not your neighbors. Evaluation I will be looking for your  specific detail and your quote  paper to be a minimum of one page  that you have a clear and easy to follow paper  Spelling and Punctuation  The work is more yours then Edgar Allan Poe’s Remember I just said to use one quote you can use more but this is YOUR paper not a re-write of The Masque of The Red Death Conclusion You now without knowing it have analyzed The Masque of The Red Death and picked out a quote to describe a specific detail. You have realized the importance of being a unique writer and why we love Edgar Allan Poe’s work. As well as made your own unique work inspired by the author.
