AECOM has master planned and designed 750,000 square feet of retail and office lease space
distributed across the site in six four-story buildings and one ten-story high-rise tower. The 400,000
square feet of retail space includes a 48,500-square foot Whole Foods grocery store, 80,000 square
feet of restaurants, 150,000 square feet of high-end shops and a 35,000-square-foot seven-screen
cinema. The project has 350,000 square feet of office space. The loft-style office space has 10’
ceilingsand floor-to-ceiling glass screened with a custom frit-pattern. The site accommodates parking
for 2,800 cars, including a 300-car single-level underground garage, 2,300 cars in above-grade
structured parking, and 200 surface parking spaces. BLVD Place Phase 1 was completed in 2009 and
consists of
a single four-story mixed-use commercial building with retail and restaurants tenants at the ground
level, the main dining rooms of the two restaurants on the second level, and loft-style office space on
the upper two floors. This first phase of the multi-phase BLVD Place project accounts for approximately
one-tenth of the final proposed build-out of the 21-acre site.

HOLLYWOOD + HIGHLANDRENOVATION
Los Angeles,California
Hollywood & Highland is a unique entertainment complex featuring nightclubs, the Kodak Theatre
(home of the Oscars®) 65,000 square feet of restaurants and banquet facilities, and 640,000 square
feet of national, regional and local retail tenants. After it’s opening in November 2001 the center
struggled to attract and maintain visitors. CIM Group purchased the 1.7 million square foot property
and transformed it into an inviting destination for residents of Hollywood and Los Angeles. Their
vision was to create an unsurpassed destination – for gathering, shopping and dining, relaxing at a
nightclub or movie, or hosting a social event.

The improvements to the complex have taken place in multiple phases. Phase 1 included improving
circulation around the center by adding new escalators and landings and renovating the existing
elevator circulation core. Part of this phase also included improving visibility of upper level tenants by
replacing solid facades and railings with glass panels and introducing new signage and lighting.
Phase 2 improvements included adding a 350-seat IMAX® theater to the existing Mann Chinese
cinema 6-plex, adding a day spa, landscaped gardens and canopies to top level of the center, and
reprogramming the central courtyard to accommodate new flagship tenants such as Virgin
Megastore and Lucky Brand Jeans, and adding landscaping and event infrastructure.

The Diyilou Street City Walk was designed as a double loaded open air pedestrian promenade. The
750,000 square foot mixed-use complex is the first commercial development amid a concentrated
residential neighborhood. The booming Chinese economy has area residents experiencing disposable
income and its peripheral effects, and now residents in this up-and-coming commercial district have
a place to purchase their goods, enjoy a meal, and take in the latest in entertainment. The unique ‘L’
shaped promenade responds to the surrounding context and features an 18-story residential tower
and six-level big box department store anchoring the corner of the “L”. Shoppers follow a central
circulation route that is flanked on both sides by three and four levels of retail stores, restaurants and
entertainment venues. The program also features a large underground parking garage. ‘Holes’ and
inverted fountains in the main floor of the retail mall bring natural light down to the garage below and
set the tone for the experience above.
