Locus of Control: Locus of Control refers to an individual's perception about the underlying main causes of events in his/her life. Internal Locus of Control: An individual’s perception about the underlying main causes of events in his/her life. For example, students with an internal locus of control might blame poor grades on their failure to study. External Locus of Control: A belief that reinforcement is under the control of other people, fate, or luck. Whereas students with an external locus of control may blame an unfair teacher or test for their poor performance.
