Water Tower Design Challenge
Problem: How can we design strong yet inexpensive
structures to support heavy objects?
Criteria: Tower must support the mass of a full water bottle
in a stable position as far above the table top as possible.
Constraints: Final design must only use five 8 ½ x 11 sheets
of paper to support one full water bottle. You have 10
minutes.

Met or exceeded AR goals (both Semester)

All threes and fours on the math and reading Smarter Balance or MSP for 4th-6th
grade
All threes and fours in academics on the 6th grade report card
Most often puts forth 100% in academics
Presidential Achievement
Have overcome some type of learning disability to do well in school
Maybe one MSP wasn’t a three or four but all others were
Students who excel in one or more academic areas (3’s & 4’s in reading, math or
writing) but don’t meet the gold level requirements.
Met Excellence award, however consistently put less than 100% effort in academics.
