  7. 7. Using Technology Students need to have access to a working computer and printer. Most parent contact will be done through e- mail Students need to have access to the internet and a working e-mail address. We’ll be using the Remind app! (See Handout)
  8. 8. HomeworkHomework will be assigned regularly in class. It is the student’s responsibility to complete their homework on time and to the best of his or her ability. Assignments need to written in agenda daily! Use the agenda to check that they’re turning in their work!
  9. 9. Expectations Late Work Late work is not accepted. Students are responsible for getting the work they missed if they were absent. Work is only given for excused absences. Vacations & trips are not excused absences.
  10. 10. Grading Students will be graded on quizzes, tests, essays, assignments, and projects. On major assignments and projects, a rubric will always be provided beforehand. There will be a final exam/project at the end of the school year in both subjects.
  11. 11. GradingTests – 30% Homework – 30% Classwork – 30% Effort & Cooperation – 10% I do not give grades.  Students earn grades.  All work in this class is awarded on a point system. The more points a student earns, the higher the grade will be.  Points are cumulative from the beginning of the semester.  All work counts toward the final grade.
  12. 12. Expectations Attendance Whenever your child is absent from school, an excuse note is required when he/she returns. All students are expected to be in attendance each day unless they are ill or have an appointment.
