2. My first trailer idea
The appropriate rating for my first trailer, I believe, would be a PG
for “Parental Guidance”. My idea for the film trailer is not that I
would have any swearing or gruesome scenes in it. Therefore, the
reason that I feel that this is the correct rating is because the film
is quite deep and not very bright and up lifting For example, it
would feature scenes with a homeless/poor person and imagery of
that sort id don’t feel would be appropriate for a child to see
without the accompany of an adult. For this reason I think that my
first plot is alright for kids to watch but not without the company
of parent or guardian. Another reason is that the trailer will
feature some mild language that would not be suitable for
children. On BBFC’s website it says that only mild language is
acceptable for the Parental Guidance category.
3. My second trailer idea
For my second trailer idea, I think that the film itself should be rated a 12. for
this idea, I wanted there to be mild violence, including blood etc. The 12
certificate allows for mild violence as long as there is no dwelling on it and there
is context for its use, which there would be. The trailer would feature the
infected coughing up flood and harsh language, this is why I fell that this
certificate is appropriate.
4. Red and Green Band
The red and green bands at the beginning of a trailer signify if the trailer is
“appropriate for all audiences” or not. When on YouTube, a film might have a
trailer that is green band and a trailer that is red band. A red band film trailer at
the start of a trailer signifies that there will be a use of violence or sexual scenes
in the trailer, unlike the green band. For my trailer, I feel that I would use a
green band, justified by the use of only mild swearing and/or violence.
