Dear Southwest Airlines Charitable Giving,
Adopt A Golden Birmingham is an all volunteer, non-profit organization with the unyielding
mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding forever homes for Golden Retrievers. Our
number one goal is to reduce the amount of abuse and neglect of this most friendly, intelligent,
and energetic breed of dog.
Golden Retrievers are one of the most common dog breeds in the U.S. Unfortunately, they are
also one of the most commonly abused breeds and often used as bait dogs in dog fighting.
Since 2012, AGB has rescued and provided adoptions for nearly 400 intakes as a result of our
vigorous community outreach and educational programs. We could not accomplish this feat if it
were not for the passion and warmth of a dedicated group of volunteers and, just as importantly,
the generosity of donors.
September 10, 2015 marks our fourth annual A Night of Golden Opportunities fundraiser. This
yearly event plays a pivotal role in ensuring AGB raises the funds to continue our commitments.
As part of the night’s festivities, items donated to AGB are auctioned off during live and silent
auctions.
Our organization is seeking donations for two round-trip tickets to anywhere in the contingent 48
states to be included in our live auction. Seeing as Southwest Airlines is the number one airline
serving Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport in terms of destinations and passenger
traffic, as well as a favorite amongst our committee members, our organization feels it would be
a great opportunity for SWA to show some love to the Birmingham Metropolitan area and its
dog-lovers. After all, SWA is the airline with the heart.
This cause matters to us and, therefore, we hope it matters to you. Should SWA feel obliged to
donate to our organization, you will have contributed to our cause greatly. Not only will your
contribution bring joy to the highest bidder, but more importantly, help in achieving our goal of
reaching $75,000 so that we may continue our efforts in rescuing and caring for unfortunate
Golden Retrievers throughout the state and region.
Attached with the request is documentation of our 501(c)(3) classification with the IRS. Also
attached with this letter is more information about our cause. You may also visit our website at

Adopt A Golden Birmingham looks forward to hearing from you.
