Dear Friends,
Welcome to Little Mill Country Club for Samaritan’s annual golf tournament. This
year marks two significant milestones – 40 years of caring for the community and
30 years of hosting South Jersey’s favorite golf outing. Thank you for being here
to support Samaritan and the work we do to help our patients, clients, and those
who care about them, live their best lives every day.
Thank you to all of our sponsors with a special thanks to Tournament Sponsors
Shirley and Jim Richardson, and our friends at The Richardson Family Dealerships
for their generous support year after year. We are deeply indebted to our
volunteers, especially the golf committee whose time, commitment, and
relentless drive for our good cause makes this a fun day with a meaningful goal:
to improve the quality of life for the aging and those living with serious illness.
For 40 years, we’ve cared for your family, friends and neighbors, and despite the
COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to care for hundreds of patients and families
every day. We’ve provided services, uninterrupted, taking every precaution to
protect the health and safety of all those we serve. Now, more than ever, we need
your support.
As a not-for-profit, public support and donations help us raise funds that enable
us to provide services that are under- or un-reimbursed by other sources. Because
of this, we are able to offer additional, high quality services that really make a
difference in people’s lives.
For example, grief support for families is required as part of the Medicare hospice
benefit. Left to each individual hospice provider to define what that support looks
like, Samaritan goes above and beyond to offer in-person and telephonic private
counseling, in-person and online support groups, online resources, check-in
phone calls, and letters of support. In addition to helping our patients’ families,
our Center for Grief Support Services are available to the community.
Complementary therapies such as massage and music – that can help with the
stress and anxiety and enhance peoples’ lives – are further examples of what sets
Samaritan apart.
So, life IS better when you’re golfing – and better yet BECAUSE you’re golfing
“FORE! A Good Cause.”
