I can’t tell you the flood of emotions that I am having right
now. It is still so hard to believe that in a matter of weeks,
someone with so much energy and life would be forever gone.
The month of July began with stomach pain, I should have
known it was more when Butch did not want to go to the
cruise in, he never missed one. We went from having so
much hope to finally making the realization that healing
might not be in the cards. The stroke that he suffered on that
Monday pretty much sealed his fate. I did not leave his side
that night as he cried telling me not too, I tried to sleep as I
held his hand. My heart was hurting so bad, but I tried to be
strong for him, I did not want to admit to myself that I just
might lose him, I just did not want to believe it. So much love
and support has been shown to our family, I guess that I
didn’t realize just how many people and lives Butch had an
effect on. Your kind words of encouragement and the
thoughtfulness of each and every one of you, is so greatly
appreciated. I do hope that I can keep his dream alive and
going for this club, his passion was for the club and all that
we were able to do in helping others.
Thank you again for
all your love and
support!!
Love to all!!
Lisa

I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to serve as the Vice
President and for having the confidence in me to do the job. In my
first letter to the members, I would like to tell you a little about
myself.
Most people know me by my 1961 Ford Galaxy Andy Griffith pa-
trol car. As many of you also know, I have been married to Rita
for 26 years. I am a 1982 graduate of Jefferson County High
School and I have worked for the Hamblen County Sheriff’s De-
partment for 17 years. I am the County representative for Chero-
kee Lodge #4 of the F.O.P.
I am currently trying to help raise money for Audree Farmer, a 3
year old little girl in need of heart surgery at Vanderbilt. I will
have a donation for the cruise in at the mall for anyone who can
help.
Again, I would like to thank all the members for having the confi-
dence in me and electing me to the Vice President’s position. I
will always be available to the members when needed and look
forward to serving the car club.
Thanks,
William
