4. What time of year is best to plant a
pumpkin seed?
• The best time of year to plant your pumpkin
seed is mid summer. They need lots of time to
grow, and be ready for October!
5. Put your seed in soil. Make sure
it gets a lot of water and
sunlight!
• After 7 to 14 days the seed will sprout!
7. The vine and roots will continue to
grow for the next 8 weeks. Growing up
to 6 inches a day!!!
8. 10 weeks, the first flowers appear!
• Bees take pollen from the male flowers and
plant the pollen in the female flowers! The
female will then develop a baby pumpkin!
