University of the Pacific is a private, liberal arts university and is California’s first chartered institution of higher learning.
Pacific has three campuses in Northern California and approximately 1,900 of the nearly 5,000 students on the Stockton
campus reside in on-campus housing. An additional 175 students reside in University-owned Greek chapter facilities.
University of the Pacific is ranked 15th
on U.S. News & World Report’s campus ethnic diversity list for national universities.
Responsibilities
 Serve as the chief housing officer for a residential program that houses approximately 2,100 students. Responsible
for the overall management and leadership of a department that includes over 120 full-time, graduate-level, and
student staff positions
 Serve as the University’s dining contract administrator, and provide strategic direction for food service program
provided by Bon Appetit/Compass Group
 Manage a budget that includes annual revenues over $22,000,000 and annual expenses over $20,000,000
 Guide the day to day operations of nearly 700,000 square feet of residential and dining facilities, facilitated by the
associate director for housing facilities, and work with the University Physical Plant to plan for long-range
maintenance and renovation
 Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of the recently approved strategic housing facilities master plan
that will result in the construction of a new residential facility and the complete renovation or repurposing of nearly
90% of all residential square footage over a period of ten years
 Direct all administrative support functions, facilitated by the associate director for housing administration, and
develop occupancy management strategies in consultation with Enrollment Management
 Oversee the student housing application process, contractual agreements, rate setting strategies, assignments,
and billing for all residential facilities
 Serve as on-call staff for highest level of crises management for student and facility issues
 Work with Fraternity and Sorority Life as six chapters reside in University-owned chapter facilities
 Serve as senior-level appeal for residential student conduct issues, including eviction from housing, and housing
appeal decisions
 Develop and implement all departmental assessment and evaluation strategies, including oversight of the
department’s residential curriculum, facilitated by the associate director for residential life
 Serve as a liaison to divisional and university-wide committees that forward the mission of the division of Student
Life and University of the Pacific
Accomplishments
 Navigated economic and enrollment challenges and increased occupancy by seven percent over three years
 Facilitated a reorganization, during budget reallocation and staff attrition, that equalized staff wages and placed a
leadership emphasis in the area of residential life
 Added a full-time, assistant director level staff member to organizational chart to support staff training and
residential student conduct initiatives

Department of Residential Education
The University of Arizona (UA) is Arizona’s Land Grant University located in an urban metropolitan area of nearly 1,000,000
people. The UA is a Level I Research Institution and has a campus population of over 35,000 with an on-campus
population of over 6,000.
Responsibilities
 Serve on seven-person departmental leadership team responsible for the overall management of the department,
including, but not limited to: occupancy management, student behavioral education, residential life program,
facilities operation
 Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the overall student personnel recruitment and selection
program as it relates to over 200 resident assistants and over 150 desk assistants, serving 23 residence
complexes of approximately 6,000 students
 Directly supervise four professional administrative staff members
 Manage day-to-day operations of front desk system including; 23 customer service desks, over 150
paraprofessional staff, and a budget of over $600,000
 Oversee departmental functions, processes and protocols, in conjunction with Residence Life Maintenance,
outlining the usage of room and building keys and electronic building access systems
 Facilitate the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a five day training program for student
desk staff positions
 Participate in upper-level manager on duty rotation for highest level campus-wide facility and crisis emergencies.
Accomplishments
 Served as program manager for creation and implementation of a web-based issuance and tracking system for
temporary building access cards
 Professionalized the desk staff operations by reclassifying staff from administrative assistants to professional
coordinators
 Recognized as the campus recipient of the national Hallenback Service Award in 2010

Residence Life and University Food Services – Bozeman, Montana
Montana State University is Montana’s Land Grant University and is the flagship institution of the Montana State University
system. MSU is a Level I Research Institution serving a campus population of over 12,000 with an on-campus population of
over 3,200.
Responsibilities
 Served on five-person departmental leadership team, which includes the director, associate director and assistant
director of residence life, and one other professional coordinator
 Assisted in creating and implementing a management and crisis response training program for departmental senior
staff
 Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the overall resident assistant selection and training
program for 80 staff members serving seven residence halls of approximately 3,000 students
 Provided guidance and supervision to professional staff members in the functional area of paraprofessional staff
training and selection
 Developed and coordinated an eleven day fall developmental training program, inclusive of three day teambuilding
camp experience, for 80 paraprofessional and professional staff members
 Served as lead instructor for two, 400-Level, one-credit leadership development courses serving 150 students
annually
 Served concurrently as a full-time, professional Resident Director (position listed on next page)
Accomplishments
 Responsible for the creation and implementation of an automated system for the resident assistant application
process
 Created a pre-spring semester, conference style, training program for paraprofessional staff

Responsibilities  Serve on seven-person departmental leadership team responsible for the overall management of the department, including, but not limited to: occupancy management, student behavioral education, residential life program, facilities operation  Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the overall student personnel recruitment and selection program as it relates to over 200 resident assistants and over 150 desk assistants, serving 23 residence complexes of approximately 6,000 students  Directly supervise four professional administrative staff members  Manage day-to-day operations of front desk system including; 23 customer service desks, over 150 paraprofessional staff, and a budget of over $600,000  Oversee departmental functions, processes and protocols, in conjunction with Residence Life Maintenance, outlining the usage of room and building keys and electronic building access systems  Facilitate the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a five day training program for student desk staff positions  Participate in upper-level manager on duty rotation for highest level campus-wide facility and crisis emergencies.
