2. Editing-
This shot is a continuity shot, it linked up with shots of the night outside of the girls bedroom, which the girl was scared of, this is to make the safety of her
colourful room, seem like a place of a false sense of security. In this particular part of the trailer long sequence shots are used, this is because of the
diegetic speech which is being used to tell some of the storyline.
Camerawork-
The shot type used in these selection of scenes are mid shots and mid-long shots. The framing used puts the characters in the centre of the frame. With the
movement in this scene being a pan into the girls window from outside. The effect of this is to show the contrast between the good and evil, the evil being
the darkness that is seeping into the good, the light.
Mise en scene-
The setting shown here is a young girls bedroom, we can tell its night
because of the darkness in shot, which is being lit up by the lamps she
has around the room. The costume she is wearing is some pyjamas, this
helps establish along with the setting that she is going to bed. Her
characters facial expression is scared which contrasts the colourful room
features surrounding her. The lighting in this scene is all situated around
the girl herself, the darkest area in the room being in the direction of the
open window, shown in the shot before this one.
Sound-
The diegetic sound used in this section is the speech used in this scene,
between the mother and girl. The non- diegetic sound is a eerie woman's
voice singing. This is to get the audience nervous as soon as they begin to
view the trailer. The diegetic speech in this part of the trailer is the
dominant however, this is because part of the storyline is being told.
3. Mise en scene-
The setting shown here is a abandoned house in a forest, this scene is set
during the day, this can be seen through the sunshine in the trees. The
costume the characters are wearing are casual clothes, they are shown
sitting around a table in a town. The characters facial expressions seem
to show them as quite laid back about the information they are being
told.. The lighting in this scene is all around the characters, this is
because it is day, this could also portray that the characters are currently
safe as the darkness isn’t around them.
Sound-
The diegetic sound used in this section is the speech used in this scene,
between the teenagers. The non- diegetic sound is a quite background
melody, which has been used to create a subtle amount of suspense. The
diegetic speech in this part of the trailer is the dominant however, this is
because part of the storyline is being told. A voice over is also used in
this section, as one of the characters that’s been introduced tells a story
about ‘The Wicked’.
Editing-
This shot is a continuity shot, what is being shown links with what the characters are saying to one another. In this particular part of the trailer long
sequence shots are used, this is because of the diegetic speech is still being used to tell some of the storyline.
Camerawork-
The shot type used in these selection of scenes are mid shots and close ups. The framing used puts the characters in the centre of the frame. This is to
show who the main characters are throughout the film.
4. Mise en scene-
The setting shown here is the characters seen in the scenes before at the
house. These costume the characters are wearing are casual clothes The
lighting in this scene is still light, showing that the characters are still in
no current danger however the light is fading as it becomes later in the
day.
Sound-
The diegetic sound used in this section is the speech used in this scene,
between the teenagers. The non- diegetic sound is a quite background
melody, which has been used to create a subtle amount of suspense. The

These scenes are very similar to the previous ones because the film storyline is still being told.
5. Mise en scene-
The setting shown here is the abandoned house at night, this is to show
that something bad is going to happen to these new characters the
audience has been introduced to. These characters are also wearing
casual clothes as their costumes. The lighting in this scene is dark, so as
to show the danger surrounding this place and these characters.
Sound-

These scenes are also very similar to the previous ones because the film storyline is still being told, however with the use of new characters, this
is the end of the storyline being told, after this point the speed of everything in this teaser trailer becomes quicker.
6. Mise en scene-
The settings shown here are a mix of various places, some of which cant
be made out because of the shot types used. The costumes for
introduced characters stay the same, however a new character is
introduced ‘The Wicked’, who from what we can see in this compilation
of clips wears a form a black, torn cloak. The characters facial expressions
are scared which contrasts to the characters facial expressions shown in
earlier clips. The lighting in these scenes is all very dark, showing that
‘The Wicked’ is coming for the characters.
Sound-
The diegetic sound used in this section is limited, but it mainly includes
creaks and scratching on various objects, also there are a characters
scream throughout the sequence. The non- diegetic sound is a fast paced
sound clip to accompany the clips behind it. This non-diegetic sound clip
is the dominant sound in these clips.
Editing-
The shots used her are a montage of different shots, this has been done to introduce ‘The Wicked’. The transitions between shots are quick with fast shot
edits to add to make the audience more susceptible to a jump scare of some description.
Camerawork-
The shot type used in these selection of scenes are mid shots and close ups. The framing used puts a small amount of a character or object in the pictures,
so as to not give too much of the storyline away from this point onwards.

Throughout the previous four slides sets of shots there are many that show ‘The Wicked’, the further through the sequence of shots the more of ‘The
Wicked’ the audience is shown until this last shot shown above. This shot shows ‘The Wicked’ in its full form, it is surrounded by darkness showing that it is
the bad thing that is happing to the main characters shown at the beginning of the teaser trailer and the sub-characters shown throughout these previous
clips.
10. Mise en scene-
The setting and time here are a forest at night, the clouds also show that
it a misty night. This creates an eerie effect for the audience as they see
the name of the film. The colours used here and throughout the later
part of the teaser trailer are very bland showing the audience the genre
of the film
Sound-
The sound in this section in non-diegetic and is very quiet whilst the title
is on. This is because there are two clips that surround this on either
side. Both use diegetic sounds to emphasise there points, that ‘The
Wicked’ is a ruthless killer and the characters shown are pathetic.
Text Graphic-
The text graphic used her show the name of the film across the screens centre. The graphic is white so as to stand out against the night sky, however it still
fits in with the foggy clouds in the image. The font is quick blocky however it uses serif, to create an old looking effect for the text. This could be to
represent the age of ‘The Wicked’ and therefore how long its been killing children and teens for.
11. Trailer Information-
The teaser trailer is 1 minute 13 seconds long. The information about the film given in this time to the audience, is what will happen in the film,
characters will fight for their lives and try to avoid being killed by ‘The Wicked’. This is suggested by the shots used and narrative throughout the
teaser trailer. This plot line shows that the film will be a teen horror.
This teaser trailer leaves the audience asking the question of what will happen to the characters shown throughout the teaser trailer, also what is
‘The Wicked’ and when does it come from. The USP, unique selling point, of this film is its genre. The teen horror genre isn’t used a much as other
horror genres, therefore this one will be viewed by many likers of horror films, it also reaches to a large audience ranging from teens to adults.
The target audience is teens to adults, with both men and women being the target market, this is taken from the age and gender of characters in
the teaser trailer. The interests of the target audience would be horror films, with no specific background being more likely to watch this than
another.
This analysis will be useful in my production planning because we can use the Mise en scene, textual graphics, sound, editing and camerawork,
which worked well with this teaser trailer, in our own variation of the teen horror genre. Also the questions left at the end of the teaser trailer
and USP can be similar to this one as both will be aimed at a very similar target market.

Main Image Text
The mise en scene used in this image is of the inside a dark
abandoned house in this poster the colours are very dull, with
the use of black and white being mainly used, the lighting
mainly surrounds the girl in the image with the dark
surrounding the house and ‘The Wicked’, showing that ‘The
Wicked’ is the evil item within this film. The camerawork used
is a mid shot of ‘The Wicked’ and a victim with them being in
the centre of the image. This shows that they are the most
important aspect in the image, along with the main source or
light and dark which surrounds them.
The marketing team behind the poster are trying to attract an
audience through the use of the films USP. This is through
both the teaser trailer and poster of this film focusing on the
horror aspect as well as the teen aspect, making it a teen
horror.
The elements of this poster that I believe could be used in my
groups teen horror are the use of the light and dark to signify
good and evil. Also the use of mise en scene and camerawork
in this poster are good because we can use these aspects in
our own teen horror poster.
