• Has to ‘choose’ to learn new technologies
• Slower to adapt and embrace
Digital Native
• Is ‘used’ to and expects new technologies
• Adapts quickly as it is normal to them
A Footnote
Not all people born prior to 1982 are immigrants, as not all our students
are
naturally native. Generally speaking though, this is currently seen
as a normal reality in society, the workplace and education.

Young people especially are rapidly adapting to
the computer culture and its ‘language’. This is
surely a cause for satisfaction. Let us trust the
young. They have the advantage of growing up
with the new developments, and it will be their
duty to employ these instruments for a wider
and more intense dialogue among all the
diverse races and classes who share this
shrinking globe.
