TOM CASE 
Former Senior Vice President, Operations Services 
PERSONAL: 
Born in 1962 in San Francisco as a 5th generation San Franciscan, to Stan and Joan Case, Tom is the youngest of four siblings. 
His father Stan and his grandfather Vern were contractors in the foundation drilling business. Tom is married to Lisa, his wife of 
29 years. They met at UCLA where they developed a deep love for each other (and UCLA football) before moving on to get their 
degrees (Lisa in nursing) and Tom in Construction Management, from other universities. Tom & Lisa have two children, Scott 
(26) and Samantha (24), currently earning their graduate degrees; Scott an MBA at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, 
Tennessee and Samantha a Law Degree at Gonzaga in Spokane, Washington. Both Tom and Lisa are passionate about their 
family, their faith and their community.

OCCUPATION: 
Granite Construction Company; (GVA: NYSE) 
Senior Vice President of Operations Services 01/13 – 11/14 
Tom recently resigned from Granite as a named executive corporate officer (NEO), responsible for functional oversight of 
support services needed for Granite operations throughout the country. Tom’s functional direct reports included capital 
equipment, business development, construction materials, engineering, quality, environmental, land & quarry development, 
national procurement, private public partnerships & project controls. Tom was a senior member of the executive team, the 
steering committee for information technology, strategic planning, capital management, acquisition integration and continuous 
improvement (Six Sigma & Lean Principles). 
Vice President, Northwest Operating Group 09/10 to 01/13 
Responsible for operational oversight of regions in Alaska, Washington, Utah, Nevada and the Intermountain regions with 
annual revenues of approximately $800MM. Tom’s responsibilities included driving operational strategies and business results. 
Tom was also the senior project executive on several award winning design build and alternative delivery projects in Utah 
(Mountain View Corridor-CMGC) Nevada (I-80 Robb Drive) and Washington (SR-520) during this timeframe. In addition, Tom 
helped lead the integration of two recent acquisitions in Washington (Superior & Wilder). 
Vice President Southwest Operating Group, Granite West 03/07 - 9/10 
While overseeing multiple regional operations in Southern California and Arizona, Tom was involved in the collaboration & 
integration of the Border Fence projects into the company portfolio. These award winning projects were valued at over $325MM 
and included 13 different design build contracts. Tom showed his leadership in improving the safety and quality of our projects 
and businesses while improving financial results in several areas and regions. 
Regional Manager, Utah Operations Branch Manager 08/01 - 03/07 
As regional manager in Utah Tom was in charge of annual revenues exceeding $200MM and helped build one of the most 
successful and profitable regions in the company. Regional oversight includes all facets of estimating, construction, equipment, 
materials, safety, quality, environmental & business administration. Tom helped lead the local industry through a period of 
transformation into alternative procurement methods of construction. Under his leadership, Granite participated in more 
alternative procurement efforts than its peers in the industry in Utah. In addition, Tom was an active member in the community 
serving in board & leadership capacities at the chamber of commerce and Utah AGC. Overseeing the integration of a new 
acquisition and helping with the infrastructure build out before and after the 2002 Olympics, Tom helped build a successful team 
of materials, construction, equipment and sales personnel into a sustainable business today. Tom also served as project 
executive on the award winning and very successful I-15 NOW project. Tom served as an instrumental leader in the acquisition 
and turnaround of this important regional business in both the public and private sector.
Construction Manager, Utah Operations 08/00 - 08/01 
Prior to becoming the Regional Manager, Tom spent a year overseeing the construction activities in the Utah Region. Key 
responsibilities included oversight of estimating, project management, forecasting, and engineering. The transition from 
materials manager to Construction Manager prepared Tom for the subsequent role of regional manager. 
Materials Manager, Utah Operations 07/96 - 08/00 
As one of the leading members of the new acquisition, Tom was asked to transfer to Utah from Nevada to oversee one of the 
largest and most diverse regional materials businesses in the company. A stretch assignment, Tom was responsible to oversee 
sales, production and profitability of several commercial & portable ready mix, asphalt & aggregate plants, including the portable 
paving operations and the regional quality control operations. This business accounted for nearly 50% of the regional annual 
revenues and provided significantly higher returns to the business under his leadership. Tom also helped with the I-15 Design 
Build pursuit and construction (I-15 Wasatch Constructors) which was the largest design build contract in the US at the time. 
Area Manager, Nevada Operations 05/95 - 07/96 
In Carson City, Nevada, Tom was an area manager responsible for estimating, construction and materials. Operating as a 
satellite office out of the regional office in Reno, Tom was able to learn to develop skills in marketing, business development and 
client management, while also being responsible for managing assets, income statements and internal resources. 
Senior Estimator/Project Manager, Nevada Operations 06/92 - 05/95 
Transferring from California to Nevada, Tom was exposed to larger and more complex work. As a new member of the Nevada 
team, Tom had to integrate into a highly functioning and successful operation. As part of a successfully bidding team on the 
Reno/Tahoe Airport Expansion Project, Tom was able to put his estimating, engineering and project management skills to work 
and eventually become the Project Manager on this highly complex, schedule driven multi-faceted/phased project into a financial 
success and an award winning project. 
Estimator/Project Engineer, Santa Barbara Operations 05/87 - 06/92 
Tom’s first construction project was as a night time field engineer on an $18.5MM Caltrans widening & improvement project in 
Santa Barbara. Responsibilities included developing and implementing phasing & traffic control plans, work plans with foreman 
& superintendents, quantity take-offs & cost controls. After two years in the field, Tom learned how to estimate, schedule and 
oversee smaller to mid-size project for multiple public and private owners. 
Vibro-Pile, Melbourne, Australia 09/86- 05/87 
Tom traveled to Australia in 1986 with Lisa to learn a new culture and country while gaining valuable work experience. Working 
for Vibro-Pile, a deep foundation company on their new corporate headquarters, Tom was able to apply his construction 
management skills while developing an appreciation for a different set core values in a different country. This opportunity was a 
growth experience for the new couple and recent graduate. 
Case Pacific Company, Hayward, CA 1980-1986 
Summer Hire 
Laborer, Roustabout, Field Engineer, Quantity take-offs, estimating while working for his father Stan & his sole proprietorship, 
Case Pacific Company. Tom had to learn at an early age growing up the value of hard work and especially challenging the role 
of a son, working in his father’s business. Tom’s father Stan grew up working for his father Vern (Case International) in Ch icago 
and passed along many of the import lessons working in a smaller family run business. Stan helped provide the foundation for 
Tom to grow up respecting the value of the work and the contributions of subcontractors & suppliers in the construction industry. 
Dinwiddie Construction, San Francisco, CA 1983 summer 
As a field engineer working on a large complex 30 story office building in San Francisco, Tom had the opportunity to learn about 
the complexities and challenges of managing multiple construction & design related elements. Working directly for the project 
manager, Tom was able to gain perspective on the many challenges with schedule and field related activities in a fast paced, 
pressure filled construction environment.
