were often perceived as a result of a deity, divine being,
or spiritual creature showing their displeasure over
human behavior.
This later changed as humans began to see disasters as
natural events that caused physical destruction and
social chaos to individuals, communities, and societies
as opposed to responses to human actions.

Prediction is more likely in developed counties due
to the availability of monitoring technology and
qualified experts who can identify patterns, trends
and give more reliable forecasts.
Adjustment/adaptation
For places which experience regular hazards a
response is often to adapt or adjust their behaviour to
be able to cope with future events better.

effects of a significant unpleasant event.
