7. Facebook has the right to
track your information
through your mobile via
the social plugins such as

8. According to Facebook’s
privacy policy, a user does
has control over whether
the information they share
is available for public
viewing or not by altering
their privacy settings.
However, any information
that is shared by other

made public by other users
on-sharing, photo tagging,
and commenting

very unconfident about changing
the privacy settings of their
Facebook account and that 95%

Barton, 2015)
If you were to delete your

data about you is retained by
the platform which can then
be used for their own purposes
(Fidler, 2015).
(Dominici, 2015, Figure 9)
14. Get to know your Facebook account settings:
- Change your profile to ‘Private’ and not visible to the public
- Disable third parties from accessing your information via apps, websites
and Plugins
- Change your ‘Tagging’ preference so that you can view and approve of
any posts that you may be tagged in before it gets posted
- Opt-out of third party advertising which tracks your navigational
movements
(Facebook, 2015), (Computer Active, 2013).
Be careful what you post and share with others:
- Never post any information that may be confidential or of a private nature
- Never disclose personal or sensitive information such as bank details
- Only accept friend requests from people that you know and trust. You can
prevent unwanted messages and friend requests in the settings
