6. Competitive Advantage to Manual Cleaning
Consider the design and engineering of a professional quality paintbrush…it has a lot of densely packed bristles, which hold onto paint. You want these bristles to hold
onto paint, (even if the brush is inverted) until you are ready to apply it. No surprise then, that it isn’t easy to remove this paint when your job is done. When paint
begins to dry or “cure” in the brush, it becomes stiff and difficult to remove; exactly what you want on your painted surface, but not so good on a quality reusable
painting tool.
Manual cleaning of paintbrushes is a massive economic inefficiency in every painting firm’s daily operations. Manual cleaning is messy, tedious and time consuming.
It is generally done at the end of a long hard day when all personnel are least motivated and ready to go home. Attention to detail and efficiency have already left.

To date the only method for cleaning paintbrushes is by hand. No product has ever successfully automated the process. In general, all painters clean brushes by
submerging them in water or under running water in a sink and stroke them with a wire bristle brush or steel-toothed comb and then dry them through the use of a
“spinner”.
The spinner is a hand actuated assembly. It is often used in conjunction with a bucket or other container partially filled with water. The device resembles a bicycle
pump. As the plunger is pushed back and forth, the brush (or roller) attached to the other end is rotated. The brush is dipped into the water, removed and
theoretically cleaned by spinning in an empty container. This process always causes the bristles to spread out and splay, they must then be combed back into shape
and the brush needs to be “re-formed”. This exercise basically removes moister from the brush. It cannot seriously be considered a brush cleaner.
The wire bristle brush, steel-toothed comb and spinner are all labor intensive and passive in their process; they cannot match The Brushmate CAV-JET PRO’s fast,
