This document provides information about the DUT-E 2Bio fuel level sensor. The sensor features a third measuring electrode that enables automatic correction of measurement data when switching between fuel types of different permittivity. It can accurately measure fuel volume in tanks regardless of the type of fuel. The sensor also utilizes IoT Burger technology for onboard data processing and temperature correction functions to increase measurement accuracy. It is suitable for use in vehicles and stationary fuel storage tanks.

When switching from one fuel type to the other, a difference in data from
standard capacitive sensor can be up to 50%.
DUT-E 2Bio accurately defines fuel volume in tank regardless of fuel type inside -
summer, winter, biodiesel.

When adding a small amount of spirit into fuel tank, permittivity of spirit-diesel
mixture in fuel tank increases.

Fuel level sensor
Various fuel types (even the same fuel type, but of different quality) differs
according to its permittivity. Data from DUT-E 2Bio allows to detect switching to
other fuel type or filling fuel of different quality.

automatic measurement correction function.
Digital temperature sensor is placed near third electrode. The sensor allows to
measure fuel temperature in tank with high accuracy.

Features/ IoT BURGER technology

DUT-E 2Bio fuel level sensors are built on IoT Burger technology.
This technology allows maximum “on board” data processing. Raw data is
processed by sensor and only useful information is sent to telematics unit.
IoT Burger technology gives DUT-E 2Bio the following advantages over other sensors:
џ sensor self-diagnostics function, allowing to store information in Events Journal;
џ advanced signal adjustment (filtration, temperature correction & compensation).

DUT-E 2Bio configuration over Bluetooth is possible with Android-based smart
phones or tablets. To do that, connect S6 BT Adapter to DUT-E 2Bio and run
Service S6 DUT-E Android application (downloaded and installed via Google Play).

Temperture compensation - automatic function necessary for eliminating influence
of ambient temperature on sensor’s parts, especially on electronic components.
Temperture compensation and correction functions are helping to increase mesurement
accuracy and get temperature-indepent information without false fluctuations on chart.

Signal filtering can be adjusted in 0 to 300 s range.
That allows to send accurate data on fuel volume without false fill-up and draining
events to the server. The feature is important when vehicle equipped with DUT-E 2Bio
in fuel tanks is operated on rough terrain.
