Site Level Operational Alignment
2. Operating Model
• Standard operating practices across all sites
• Not regularly changed
• Requires multi-site Working Group approval
to change
• Examples may include:
⁻ End of shift park-up
⁻ Refuelling strategy
⁻ Standard Org Structure
3. Site and Area Operating Philosophy
• Operational tactics specific to each site and
area form the Operating Philosophy
• Includes tactics from Pit Developent through
to TLO
• Regularly updated based on site constraint
which is determined using a Site Constraint
Tool
• Changes to tactics approved by site GM
• Ideally built into the Monthly Planning
process
• Supply Chain Operations tactics are an input
• Captured on a one-page visual and
communicated to all operational employees
4. Deviation Management
• On a day-to-day basis, the site constraint
can deviate from the medium term
constraint
• This is referred to as a deviation
• Some tactics can be changed on a day-to-
day basis to account for deviations
• This is managed at a Daily Site Level
Information Centre
Benefits
• Aligns Site Operations with Supply Chain tactics
• Provides framework for operational decision makers when conflicting
priorities are encountered (i.e. between Pit and Plant Controllers)
• Enables the development of a site wide Value Driver Tree and associated
KPIs
• Focuses Site GM on the operational KPIs that are most important (instead
of trying to manage all of them)
1. Operations Strategy
• The operational component of the Site
Strategic Plan
• Normally developed annually in
combination with site budget process
• Incorporates the Annual Supply Chain
targets
