3. Overview & Process
Toshiba is a leading global provider for electric/electronic products and services.
They cover four main business domains; energy, social infrastructure, electronic
devices and digital solutions. They employ over 150, 000 employees worldwide.
A company of this magnitude generates a large amount of data that is essential
for business grow and customer satisfaction. One of the data intelligence
platforms they have enlisted is MicroStrategy. They approached ExistBI to
provide training to their analysist in MicroStrategy Reporting.
At kickoff, Toshiba tasked ExistBI to take the lead in gathering requirements,
interviewing multiple stakeholders and team members both on-site and
remotely.
Our MicroStrategy trainers then established a powerful and focused curriculum
for training the new team, delivering a custom training agenda that was on-point
and relevant to the delegates job description.

4. Solution
Our team established a training program
consisting of two days’ custom MicroStrategy
Desktop Reporting Essentials training.
The Toshiba team were trained in our central
London Office. The lab environment was
configured and tested. We delivered the printed
materials in advance.
The trainer was tasked to provide daily feedback
and a final grade. They also created a ‘final’ test
for each course to help the client gauge who was
ready to move forward to hands-on project
work.

5. Results
The course provided students with an overview of the extensive reporting
capabilities of MicroStrategy Desktop. Participants left with an understanding of
report creation and the numerous data and style report manipulations in
MicroStrategy Desktop, including auto-style creation, drilling, data pivoting,
page-by, outline mode, grid and graph formatting, and thresholds.
Additionally, participants became versed in the creation of basic components that
are essential in the creation of reports, including report filters, metrics,
MicroStrategy OLAP Services features, prompts, and searches. Students also
discovered report design principles that leverage the capabilities of MicroStrategy
Desktop.
