I'm engineering student from India, I have done seminar on the museum of future by collecting information from various official websites. It gives introduction and structural details of museum and also revealed what's inside the museum. And it also gives information about why museum of future is a most beautiful building in the world.

4. • The Museum of the Future is an exhibition space for
innovative and futuristic ideologies, services, and
products. Located in Sheikh Zayed road, dubai.
• Project was developed by Meraas Holding, project was
announced by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler
of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the
UAE, on 2015.
INTRODUCTION

5. • Architecture practice Killa Design describe their innovative
design for The Museum of the Future.
• Killa designs also collaborate with famous and technical
expertise on the project, especially Buro Happold and their
perseverance in implementing the design without massive
changes.
• The mastermind behind the unconventional design, Shaun Killa
spoke about the various ways in which Museum of the Future
was a testament to the passion of various players from the
design industry.
6. Structural details :
• Starting with the pile foundation.
• In this building, the steelwork is sitting on a big elliptical
ring beam that is 20 m in the air, so it is unlike a more
conventional building with a solid foundation for the
steelwork.
• The ring beam is 78m in height made up of 11 individual
spans. As the steelwork is built, this beam moves down to
carry the additional weight.
6
7. Application of BIM
• It required the project director and his team, used to working with 2D drawings, to rapidly upskill.
Everybody has had to learn Bim fully and radically change how they work day-to-day.
• To built the steel ring beam and tower that support the diagrid, it took 14 months to complete the steel
work. Throughout the construction process, laser scanning was used to compare the as-built positions
with the 3D model.
8. 8
• The Museum sets new innovative benchmarks.
As a 17,000sq m torus-shaped building clad in
stainless steel, achieving LEED Platinum
status, and designed holistically through BIM
at every design stage.
• The building constructed using robotic
technology and with an emphasis on
sustainability the building is powered by 4,000
megawatts of solar energy.
9. Application of tekla 6
9
• By using Tekla exhaustive 3D modelling also removed the typical problems associated with the
mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installation.
• The real game changer in the switch from working with 2D drawings to 3D models has been that
coordination of the MEP engineering began much earlier in the project and so problems were resolved long
before work moved onsite.
10. Complex curved façade panel
• The geometry of the seven-storey building and the calligraphy
cut-outs, no two fibreglass panels are alike.
• Each of the 1,024 panels has to be individually moulded and
manufactured before the addition of the stainless steel finish and
the glazing.
• And it took a year of experimentation for the façade
supplier Affan to develop the panel structure and design,
and to prototype the production processes, which include
computer-controlled machining tools.

Catia Software used for Designing of panels
• Each complex-curved façade panel was designed in CATIA to include Arabic script cutouts and
varying recesses for flat glass windows, as well as “cassette” edges reinforced to support lifting
during installation and attachment to the building’s steel framework.
• CNC machining of each mold took 12 to 72 hours and each of the 1,024 composite panels required
its own mold. All four of Affan Innovative Structures’ CMS 5-axis CNC machines were needed to
meet the museum’s demanding production rate.
12. 12
• Finished panels then received the stainless steel exterior finish. The stainless steel is
adhesively bonded to each panel and then attached with mechanical fasteners, which is an art
in itself.
• Thus, every single had to be attached requiring as many as 200 to 300 attachments for a
single panel. Finished panels were then sent to site to be installed.

Main aspects of building
Green hill:
• Inside the green hill is a three-storey podium structure
housing the museum’s lobby, auditorium, restaurants,
retail, parking and more, so the challenge was to create
a strong, thinly clad, vegetated cover.
• The inspiration for the green hill was also to elevate the
building in a calm and unobtrusive way above the
metro line and create greenery in elevation that is
uncommon in Dubai where visitors can enjoy while
engaging with the Museum.
14. The building and void :
• On the whole, the distinctive features of the design
will create a timeless landmark that will be a shining
example for all future low carbon buildings in the
UAE.
• With a 7 Storeys of exhibition space, 3 podium levels
including a 420 seat auditorium, restaurant, cafe and
lobby.
14
15. Inside the museum of future
• Oss: Orbital Space Station gives the unrealistic ambiance
of OSS Hope and know about the captivating missions,
discoveries, and inventions about the future and 3D wall
gives a realistic space experience.
• A digital Amazon: The 4th floor which is Heal Institute and
witness the possible upcoming climate changes at the Digital
Amazon. It gives a mixed reality recreation of the Amazon
rainforest.
15
16. • The Vault of Life :
The Vault of Life in the DNA library which showcases the changes that might come into effect to the 2000+
species of our planet because of drastic climate changes.
16
17. • A spa for the sense :
The 3rd floor- Al Waha which means “The Oasis”, which disconnects you from the technology
and shows you the equilibrium of virtual and real life.
18. Future Heroes:
• The 1st floor explore the 3 exhibitions- Imagine, Design, & Build where they learn creativity with communication
and collaboration. It is Museum of the Future’s dedicated space for the children.
• The children with opportunities to play and to learn through activities that encourage comunication, collaboration and
creativity.
19. What makes MOTF. is most beautiful
building in the world:
• Symbolic Form
The circular building with a torus shape represents humanity; the green mound is sits at top represents
the earth; the void represents the unknown future. And the shape of building is also gives immense
aesthetic appearance.
20. • Interior design, bubble lifts and sculptural spiral staircase:
Both a sculptural spiral staircase, as well as a clutch of speedy bubble lifts ascend into the
unknown as the multi-layered exhibits unravel.
Cutting though the building’s void—a design gesture alluding to our hopes and aspirations for
tomorrow—a sleek air bridge serves as a symbolic point where the past, present and the future
connect.
21. • The Building Speaks Arabic :
The facade is a canvas for the quotes of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al
Maktoum rendered in the calligraphy has been designed by Emirati artist Mattar Bin Lahej.
22. The first quote says: “We may not live for hundreds of years, but the products of our
creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone.”
The second one reads: “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it and
execute it. The future does not wait. The future can be designed and built today.”
And the third goes: “The secret of the renewal of life, the development of civilisation and
the progress of mankind is in one word: Innovation.”
23. CONCLUSION:
• The glimmering, futuristic upper building represents mankind, with all of its
strength, artistry and ability to create in harmony with its surroundings. This is
formed by the bold shape which emerges from the hill, covered with the
Arabic calligraphy about the future, and displaying mankind’s passion for the
arts and creating.
• Offering an integrated environment empowering creative minds to test, fund
and market ideas for futuristic prototypes and services.
• It will bring together inventors, designers and researchers, presenting a range
of technologies, becoming an incubator for ideas and designs, a driver for
innovation, and a global destination for inventors and entrepreneurs.
