Corporate expectations new
1. Corporate Expectations
Tuning ourselves to their requirements.
What do corporates expect?
What do you all expect?
Is there a gap?
How do we prepare ourselves to bridge it?
When is the right time?
2. What do corporates expect ?
Profit is the ultimate goal of every business
It is quite often a tug of war between profit and growth-LABHAM
& BRUDDHI
Short term goals may be –market creation, market capture, cash
burning for turnover –the ratio & proportion between the two
depends on the long term strategy of the corporate
Every corporates has an ethos and a culture –stated /implied.
You need to sense it and imbibe in it.
Corporates look for your contribution in their journey.
3. Types of Corporates
Like human beings every corporate wants to reach and be in a
paradise
The three types -
The wish fulfiller ones - profit only - work for the promoters and the
closest circle - promoters interest is paramount - always under
siege. Hunger outgrown - Profit plus philanthropy or in some cases
philanthropy plus profit - Section-8 companies. Trusts - CSR
companies. Consumer’s interest is paramount.
Long term view - everlasting flow of profit with interest of
employee, employer and consumer in balance-intervene only
when necessary. Most of our companies, unfortunately, are in the first category - they
aim at fattening themselves.
4. What do you all expect ?
Every one wants to be the BOSS, a fat salary and power to
gain control over different resources
The experiment in an American class.
The experience of a professor of a business school about
students from different geography
Your old habits will look for sustenance in a new habitat.
A new world - vastly different from your college/family in many
areas.
Putting your learnings in use to contribute in the corporates
journey.
5. The Mismatches
Discipline
Timelines - partly
Accountability
Non-recognition
Rewards going to lesser deserving ones
Being asked to explain on where actually others lacked- not
you.
6. How do we overcome?
Boss is important -be of value to him and in the process to
the organisation.
You can do this by -
Understanding the business
Understanding the processes
Understanding the environment
Understanding his point of view
Improving your skill set
7. Build a reputation
Remain updated
Build relationships
Learn faster - timelines are very important
Involve your whole self
Never compromise with your core values
Work for your satisfaction.
