Accomplishments
Recognition:
Received performance award in September 1997 for superior performance in assisting in the establishment of the Center for
Excellence Institute. Recognition for development of registration process, negotiation, and establishment of vendor contracts,
physical facilities, and many other functions that allowed the newly established Center for Excellence Institute to operate
efficiently and effectively.
Kraft General Foods ABCD Award (Above and Beyond the Call of Duty) for successful attainment of significant goals related to
the KGF Professional Support Council (PSC). Objective was to build a customer-oriented, high-quality skilled support staff.
Selected as one of eight candidates in a national search conducted by Quality Training International and Professional
Secretaries International to provide recognition to support staff employees who made a major contribution to its company by
aiding in the implementation and support of a reengineering effort. This honor was given at the CPS Conference in Lake Tahoe,
Nevada, in June of 1994.
Created and developed a 5-week Stress Management Series open to all employees. Received commendation from Senior
Management and Human Resources.
Professional Activities:
1997/1998 Past Chapter President in an advisory role to the newly formed Golden Corridor Chapter of PSI.
1996/1997 Distinguished Chapter President in Illinois for Professional Secretaries International (PSI).
Keynote speaker at Harper College’s Office Careers Awards Day held in May 1997.
Topic: Learning How to Learn, by Caring for your Career
Keynote speaker at Allstate Insurance Company Headquarters to administrative assistants in August 1997.
Participated in an ongoing lecture series at Harper College to future Office Career students informing them of Certified
Professional Secretary (CPS) Certification and Professional Secretaries International.
Article published in Administrative Assistant Advisor related to project identification, initiation, and development from interview.
Wrote and presented material on KGF’s Professional Support Council (PSC) at the “Focus on the Future” Conference in Lansing,
Michigan, 1994.
Spoke at Professional Secretaries International Northwest Suburban Chapter on, “The Secretary: An Effective Catalyst,
Northbrook, Illinois, 1994.
