shape
• Mites are round or circular in shape
• Integument is striations are striations are interrupted with scales and
thick spine

17. Psoroptes ovis
• Large size and oval in shape
• Integumented is striated
• Leg sucker have long and segmented stalks
• Female have sucker on 1,2 and 4
• Male have sucker on legs 1,2and 3
• Scales and spines are absent

21. Otodectes cynotis
• Main body features similar to psoroptes
• Apodemes extending from leg 1 to 2
• Fourth leg of female are very small and without sucker

23. Demodex
• They are very minute in size with 0.1 to 0.4 mm
• Abdomen is transversely striated
• Body is elongated,worm like,divided into head thorax abdomen
• Legs are short and stubby and located in anterior region they are 4
pair of legs in nymph and adult while 3 pair in nymph
• Infect follicles and sebaceous gland of mammals
