1. Steve Lovig, nicknamed "Captain HR," is an accomplished Human Resources Executive with a
passion for helping organizations create healthy and supportive work cultures. His experience
demonstrates his abilities to improve organizational performance and promote a positive work
environment. In addition to his HR roles, Lovig is a former Adjunct Professor, writer and podcast
host, and radio station On-Air personality.
Steve Lovig has been recognized as a Top-10 “Icon” World-wide Human Resources Professional
award winner and is a highly respected HR professional. In each of his roles, he has served as a
trusted advisor to the C-Suite, a coach to managers, and an advocate for employees. He has
earned numerous certifications, including SHRM, PHR, Six Sigma, and Agile HR, and holds an MS
in HR Management.
In 2016, Steve joined Homestar Financial Corporation as Director of Human Resources, where
he’s created impactful People Practices, including developing and implementing Leadership
Coaching and Communication training for managers, forming an Employee Rewards and
Recognition program, and within the past year has been managing and executing several
rounds of staff reductions, while building processes which ensure dignity and respect for all
employees; those leaving and those staying.
Captain HR’s work has been recognized in various publications, including HR Decisions
Magazine, Atlanta Business Chronicle, and Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was a Key Presenter
at DisruptHR and has been a member of Forbes Human Resources Council, MBA.org, and TMC
