MEETING REPORT

OBJECTIVES The main objectives of the M3 activities of “The ARTICS” projectwere as
follows:
To sum up the projectactivities and outcomes;.
to discuss in presencethe projectissues: entering data on the
Mobility Tool, project sustainability, tips and advice on preparing
the projectfinal reports, archiving of the projectdocumentation,
projectpublicity measures, budget issues, evaluation. project
websites, dissemination platforms etc.
to sharegood practice: “Digital Update on Teaching the Latvian
Literature and Creativity at Jāņa Eglīša Preiļu Valsts ģimnāzija”;
to sharegood practice: “Digital Update on Teaching Robotics and
Creativity in CNC and 3D Printing at JEPVĢ”;
to sharegood practice: “Creativity in Art Lessons”;
to sharegood practice :“Teaching Music and Dance at JEPVĢ”;
to visit places of historicaland cultural interest in order to get
familiar with the cultural heritage of Latgale and Latvia;
to get insight into the Latgalian and Latvian cuisine, culture, history
and traditions;
to discuss further cooperation projects.

1st DAY (Tuesday 7, 2019) Arrival, RigaTour, The National Library
On the 1st
day, the projectparticipants had a guided tour in Old Riga to explore the old town
with its Art Nouveau/Jugendstilarchitecture, immerseinto the atmosphere of ancient
buildings, narrow cobbled streets, charismatic places of interest and learn history, legends and
secrets of the medieval town.
After a visit to the New National Library followed.
2nd
DAY ( Wednesday 8, 2019) Welcome to the Gymnasium, Sharing Good Practices
The Erasmus team was warmly welcomed by the teachers, schooladministration and
students of the hosting school. The headmaster of the schooland the “ARTICS’
coordinator gavea speech to the whole group expressing their feelings and ideas
related to the projectmeeting. Then the gymnasiumstudents showed their dance and
music Welcome concert.
A typical Latvian schoollunch was offered by the hosting schoolintroducing the guests
to the local diet.
After the introducing schooltour, the projectparticipants attended the Sharing Good
Practice workshop “Digital Update on Teaching the Latvian Literature and Creativity at
JEPVĢ”’ led by the teacher of the Latvian Languageand Literature Silvija Kivko. The
3. teacher has been using modern ICTs in teaching her subjectfor morethan 20 years. The
presentation materials will be published on the gymnasiumprojecthomepage.
Later the guests attended Preiļu Mūzikas un mākslas skola wherethey had a chance to
watch the Art department students costume show, seetheir graduation works and
participate in a creative workshop run by the teacher of art Marianna Abricka.
During the meeting with Preiļi Municipality mayor Maruta Plivda and the specialist
Jolanta Upeniece, the participants wereintroduced with the municipality, its activities,
structure, projects, organizations etc.

DAY (Thursday, May 9, 2019) Work on the Project Issues, Robotics Workshop, Europe
Day Celebrations
During the third day of our 3rd
Transnationalmeeting, we had 2 projectwork sessions. (see
the description above).
Within the framework of the Europe Day celebrations, the gymnasiumstudentteams played
the quiz “Erudite in the EU”. The quiz tasks and questions were worked out by the gymnasium
teachers. The winners gotprizes provided by the European Parliament Bureau in Riga. During
the celebration, all the gymnasiuminternational projectmobility members received
Europasses prepared in cooperation with the National Europass Centre.

After the lunch break, we attended the sharing Good Practice Workshop “DigitalUpdate on
Teaching Robotics and Creativity in CNC and 3D Printing at JEPVĢ” run by the gymnasium
teachers and Preiļi Robotics Club members. The guests were shown various types of robots
designed by the students. The Robotics Club members are always among winners of different
international competitions, e.g., competitions in Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, China.
The guests were invited to attend the concert of the gymnasiumdance group “Dancari”. The

The day ended with a farewell party dinner prepared and served by the teachers and students
of Preiļi Trade school. (RTRIT)

DAY ( Friday, May 10, 2019) Visit toMark RothkoCentre and Departure
In the morning, the “ARTICS” partners wentto the Mark Rothko centre to get acquainted with
his masterpieces and after left for Riga Airport.
All the participants received Certificates of Attendance signed by the schoolhead teacher and
the partnership coordinator.
4. All the produced materials and presentations will be posted on the projectwebsite and
Twinspacefor further dissemination. The teachers of each partner country will prepare
presentations of our M3 for their schools and wider audiences.
