3. 2nd DAY (Monday, 16-04-2018), Reception at school, Marchena, Feria in Seville
The Erasmus team was warmly welcomed by the teachers of the hosting school. The headmaster of the
school and the Artics’ coordinators/teachers gave a speech to the whole group expressing their
feelings and ideas related to the project meeting.
A typical Spanish breakfast was offered by the hosting school introducing us to the local diet.
We walked around the town visiting places of cultural and historical significance. In particular, we
visited the church of St. John the Baptist, 15th century, the Gate of the Arch of the Rose, the Town Hall
where we had the chance to meet the mayor and discuss issues touching the current political situation
in Spain. Our visit was video recorded and uploaded on a local online newspaper. Additionally, the
Spanish coordinator Francisco Javier Alfonso Flores gave an interview to the local channel about the
objectives and the benefits of our Erasmus+ project.
Back to school the teachers had a short meeting mainly on budget issues and the students’ a workshop
on theatre. They formed multinational groups, chose various theatrical accessories from those
available in the theatre class and performed short sketches created on the spot. The workshop was
facilitated by the Spanish theatre teacher, Carmen Leonés Rueda.
In the afternoon we visited “La Feria de Sevilla”, the Spring Fair, one of the most important events of
the city taking place in the south-west of the city, next to Guadalquivir River. Seville society dressed in
traditional costumes parades around the fairground in carriages or on horseback. It was the best way
for our team to get an insight in the local culture and tradition.
3rd DAY (Tuesday, 17-04-2018): Day trip to Cadiz and Gibraltar
During the third day of our 2nd L/T/T we went on a day trip to Cadiz province where we visited the Roman
ruins of “Baelo Claudia” and the beach of “Bolonia”. Its archaeological importance derives from the large
number of preserved elements, allowing a complete view of the Roman 'polis'.
Then, we visited Gibraltar, an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Many students and teachers had the
chance to see the Upper Rock and Nature Reserve either by taking the cable car or a taxi.
4rth DAY (Wednesday, 18-04-2018): Seville and Work at school
In the morning the “ARTICS” partners went to Seville’s historical centre and visited “Alcazar de Sevilla”, the
astonishingly beautiful royal palace and one of the most important landmarks of the city. We also visited
“Plaza de Espana”, a magnificent place with mixing elements of the Renaissance and Moorish Revival, where
we were lucky enough to attend an open air flamenco performance.
In the afternoon we had a long teachers’ meeting at school. More specifically:
The project song was chosen: The songs composed by each partner country were anonymously
presented and the teachers voted for the best one. The Portuguese song won and became the
project anthem;
Work on project issues: project implementation and management issues and techniques, 2nd
Transnational Project Meeting in Italy scheduled and preplanning, 3rd L/T/T in Portugal
preplanning, task and responsibility distribution, dissemination strategies, sustainability,
guidance concerning the mobility tool;
Proceedings were made.
4. More specifically, the 2nd Transnational Project Meeting in Italy was clearly scheduled, 14 - 18 October 2018.
Tasks and activities for each partner were reconfirmed. Each partner school was assigned with the following
tasks, to be done before our meeting in Italy:
A power-point made by each country to present our traditional cuisine;
Each country prepares homemade traditional food and brings it to Italy;
Each partner writes a draft for a short sketch on gender-based violence which is going to be staged
in Portugal during our collaborative theatre performance. Each sketch will last approximately 5
minutes and will refer to different situation;
Other planned activities:
Workshop on the creative preparation and presentation of local produce (with students and
teachers from Catering course);
Etwinning workshop;
Checklist for quantitative and qualitative assessment of ongoing project;
Establish tools for assessing the impact of mobilities (rubrics, questionnaires etc)
We also overviewed tasks already assigned and are underway, such as our eTwinning space and website. All
participants received Certificates of Attendance, some Europass Mobility Documents were also prepared and
signed.
Students’ presentation of their dances
Each partner country presented a traditional dance either wearing costumes or the project T-shirts. The
hosting school made the opening and the closing of our dance performance with “Sevillianas”, a magnificent
Andalusian popular dance.
The fourth day ended with a farewell party with snacks offered by the hosting school and families.
All the produced materials and presentations will be posted on the project website and twinspace for further
dissemination. The teachers of each partner country will prepare presentations of our C2 for their schools.
5th DAY (Thursday, 19-04-2018): Visit to “Bellas Artes Museum” in Seville, departure day
On the last day a visit to the “Bellas Artes Museum” in Seville was scheduled. After the last activity of our
meeting the delegations departed to their home countries.
Overall, the 2nd L/T/T activity of our project was successfully completed. During the five days the students and
the teachers had the chance to interact, know each other better and establish a sincere friendship. They, also,
learnt a lot about the magnificent and charming Andalusian culture and heritage.
