Methods
For this study, we employed a Stratified Random
Sampling approach, ensuring representation
across crucial demographics such as age,
gender, and socioeconomic status. This method
allowed for a diverse and comprehensive
participant pool. Data collection involved a
structured survey questionnaire, capturing self-
reported information on social media habits,
mental health symptoms, and coping strategies.
Emphasis was placed on maintaining participant
anonymity and confidentiality throughout the
process. These robust sampling design and data
collection methods enable a thorough analysis,
offering valuable insights into the intricate
relationship between social media usage and
mental health outcomes.

Analyzing the age distribution in our study provides
valuable insights into the social media landscape.
The majority of participants, falling within the 18-24
age range, demonstrate diverse social media
habits. Engagement frequencies range from 1 to 6,
with daily usage spanning 4 to 15 hours,
highlighting the variability in interaction patterns
among this demographic. In contrast, participants
aged 30-35 showcase a more consistent but
moderate engagement, with usage frequencies
ranging from 3 to 4 and daily time spent ranging
from 3 to 5 hours. The 25-29 age group exhibits a
balanced approach, with a frequency of 3 and an
average daily time spent around 5 hours. These
findings emphasize the importance of considering
age diversity when examining the impact of social
media on mental health, providing a nuanced
understanding of usage patterns across different
age cohorts within our study.

• Our analysis of social media usage patterns
across different age groups reveals intriguing
nuances among study participants. For the 18-
24 age range, we observe a spectrum of
engagement, with frequencies ranging from 1
to 5 and daily time spent on social media
varying from 4 to 15 hours. The 30-35 age
group tends to exhibit consistent but moderate
usage, with frequencies ranging from 3 to 4
and daily time spent ranging from 3 to 5 hours.
Participants aged 25-29 demonstrate a
balanced approach, with a moderate
frequency of 3 and an average daily time spent
around 5 hours. These findings highlight not
only age-related variations in social media
habits but also significant diversity within the
same age category. Further exploration of
these patterns will enhance our understanding
of the interplay between age, social media
behavior, and mental well-being in our study.
Correlation Analysis -
Social Media Impact on
Mental Health:
• Upon examining our study results, it is evident
that the impact of social media on mental health
among participants is multifaceted. Participants
within the 18-24 age range, despite diverse social
media engagement patterns, often acknowledge
some level of impact on their mental well-being.
Responses range from social media "somewhat
affecting" mental health to instances where
participants highlight positive outcomes, such as
using it for support and personal growth. Notably,
a few participants express experiences of
cyberbullying, leading to depression and anxiety,
underscoring the potential negative
consequences.
Continuation.
IN THE 30-35 AGE GROUP, PARTICIPANTS
GENERALLY INDICATE A MODERATE LEVEL OF
SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT, WITH VARYING
PERSPECTIVES ON ITS IMPACT. SOME NOTE ITS
POTENTIAL TO BE ISOLATING, FOSTERING A
CONTROVERSIAL MINDSET, WHILE OTHERS
EMPHASIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF MODERATION IN
USAGE TO PREVENT NEGATIVE EFFECTS.
THESE FINDINGS UNDERSCORE THE COMPLEX
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL MEDIA AND
MENTAL HEALTH, REVEALING BOTH POSITIVE AND
NEGATIVE ASPECTS. FURTHER EXPLORATION
THROUGH STRATIFIED ANALYSES BASED ON
DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS WILL PROVIDE A MORE
NUANCED UNDERSTANDING OF THE VARYING
IMPACTS AND POTENTIAL MITIGATING FACTORS
WITHIN OUR DIVERSE PARTICIPANT POOL.
Socioeconomic
Impact on Social
Media and Mental
Health
• Analyzing the data through a socioeconomic lens reveals
nuanced patterns in the relationship between social media,
mental health, and participants' economic backgrounds. In the
18-24 age group, low-income participants express varied
experiences, with some noting a negative impact on mental
health and employing disengagement as a coping mechanism.
Middle-income participants in the same age range exhibit mixed
perspectives, citing both positive and negative consequences,
while high-income participants emphasize the importance of
moderation and balance in social media use. These findings
underscore the intricate interplay between socioeconomic
status, social media engagement, and mental health outcomes,
emphasizing the need for tailored interventions that consider
the diverse experiences within distinct socioeconomic strata in
our study.

Conclusion.
• In conclusion, our study illuminates the intricate
relationship between social media usage and mental
health outcomes, particularly evident among
participants aged 18-24. The findings underscore a dual
impact, with social media acting as both a platform for
support and personal growth and a potential source of
negative consequences such as cyberbullying. Notably,
socioeconomic status shapes these dynamics, with
coping mechanisms ranging from disengagement in low-
income individuals to moderation in high-income
participants. These insights emphasize the need for
tailored interventions that consider the diverse
experiences within our study population, recognizing the
complex interplay of social media, mental health, and
demographics. As we navigate the digital age,
personalized strategies are crucial to promote positive
mental health outcomes and mitigate the challenges
posed by social media.

For the 18- 24 age range, we observe a spectrum of engagement, with frequencies ranging from 1 to 5 and daily time spent on social media varying from 4 to 15 hours. The 30-35 age group tends to exhibit consistent but moderate usage, with frequencies ranging from 3 to 4 and daily time spent ranging from 3 to 5 hours. Participants aged 25-29 demonstrate a balanced approach, with a moderate frequency of 3 and an average daily time spent around 5 hours. These findings highlight not only age-related variations in social media habits but also significant diversity within the same age category. Further exploration of these patterns will enhance our understanding of the interplay between age, social media behavior, and mental well-being in our study.
  • 9. Correlation Analysis - Social Media Impact on Mental Health: • Upon examining our study results, it is evident that the impact of social media on mental health among participants is multifaceted. Participants within the 18-24 age range, despite diverse social media engagement patterns, often acknowledge some level of impact on their mental well-being. Responses range from social media "somewhat affecting" mental health to instances where participants highlight positive outcomes, such as using it for support and personal growth. Notably, a few participants express experiences of cyberbullying, leading to depression and anxiety, underscoring the potential negative consequences.

  • 11. Socioeconomic Impact on Social Media and Mental Health • Analyzing the data through a socioeconomic lens reveals nuanced patterns in the relationship between social media, mental health, and participants' economic backgrounds. In the 18-24 age group, low-income participants express varied experiences, with some noting a negative impact on mental health and employing disengagement as a coping mechanism. Middle-income participants in the same age range exhibit mixed perspectives, citing both positive and negative consequences, while high-income participants emphasize the importance of moderation and balance in social media use. These findings underscore the intricate interplay between socioeconomic status, social media engagement, and mental health outcomes, emphasizing the need for tailored interventions that consider the diverse experiences within distinct socioeconomic strata in our study. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA-NC
  • 12. Conclusion. • In conclusion, our study illuminates the intricate relationship between social media usage and mental health outcomes, particularly evident among participants aged 18-24. The findings underscore a dual impact, with social media acting as both a platform for support and personal growth and a potential source of negative consequences such as cyberbullying. Notably, socioeconomic status shapes these dynamics, with coping mechanisms ranging from disengagement in low- income individuals to moderation in high-income participants. These insights emphasize the need for tailored interventions that consider the diverse experiences within our study population, recognizing the complex interplay of social media, mental health, and demographics. As we navigate the digital age, personalized strategies are crucial to promote positive mental health outcomes and mitigate the challenges posed by social media.
