Introduction
For care provision to be effective in the nursing field today, people are turning more towards the provision of community-based care (Lundy, Janes & Lundy, 2016). This requires one to clearly understand the specific care needs of the community to come up with programs to meet these needs. In the paper, we are going to identify a focus area I could work on in my community, the various health risks they can are vulnerable to and how to carry out a community assessment on my focus area.
Identify an area of focus in community health within your own community.
The health area that I would be highly interested in my community is lifestyle improvement. Lifestyle diseases have become a major health concern in my community since we have recording a great number of diseases such as child and adult obesity, diabetes and gout among many other lifestyle diseases. The main cause of this is making wrong lifestyle choices. My interest in this area is to help provide education to the community on lifestyle choices and what they ought to avoid and therefore help reduce the number of lifestyle diseases being recorded and also ensure that they are able to access healthy food choices.
Using Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns framework (p. 130 in your e-text), assess the health risks in your community.
· Health perception-health management pattern: Individuals in the community have not embraced primary care interventions. They often seek medical care when they have already contacted diseases or when a disease is already in its chronic stages making management harder.
· Nutritional-metabolic pattern: Individuals are at higher risk of lifestyle disease due to the pattern of fast food consumption. The presence of so many fast foods joints has encouraged this behavior especially for the children

· Activity-exercise pattern: Individuals are actively involved in recreation activities but have very poor physical exercise patterns. This paired with the consumption of fast food such as burgers has led to increase in obesity rates.
· Sleep-rest pattern: The community can be commended for their good sleep patterns people are found resting or asleep early enough, and this enables them to get adequate hours of sleep.
· Cognitive-perceptual pattern: Individuals in the community have good Cognitive-perceptual patterns, and this is evident through proper language development as well as memory.
· Self-perception–self-concept pattern: The concept of self-esteem is slowly falling for individuals in the community. This is as a result of lifestyle diseases such as obesity which people are experiencing right from a young age. This leads to the formation of negative attitudes towards self.

It is estimated that more than 450 million people in the world are affected by ‘disorders of the mind’, manifested by emotional or mental distress. The challenges for prevention and healing are significant, ranging from the social stigma that prevents people from seeking help, a lack of awareness in people themselves, insufficient resources and trained professionals, and the lack of culturally informed assessment and support.
As the world experiences unprecedented social and demographic change, wellbeing (‘social capital’) has risen up the political agenda for a complex mix of philosophical and economic factors. At the personal level, wellbeing enables us to live fulfilled lives.
CAREIF with the WPA conducted an international WELLBEING Survey to understand more about what constitutes ‘wellbeing’ in different cultures and settings, and how we can enhance personal wellbeing for individual and social benefit. This report will be launched at a CAREIF celebratory reception in the House of Lords (UK) on 26 October 2016.

The health area that I would be highly interested in my community is lifestyle improvement. Lifestyle diseases have become a major health concern in my community since we have recording a great number of diseases such as child and adult obesity, diabetes and gout among many other lifestyle diseases. The main cause of this is making wrong lifestyle choices. My interest in this area is to help provide education to the community on lifestyle choices and what they ought to avoid and therefore help reduce the number of lifestyle diseases being recorded and also ensure that they are able to access healthy food choices.
Using Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns framework (p. 130 in your e-text), assess the health risks in your community.
· Health perception-health management pattern: Individuals in the community have not embraced primary care interventions. They often seek medical care when they have already contacted diseases or when a disease is already in its chronic stages making management harder.
· Nutritional-metabolic pattern: Individuals are at higher risk of lifestyle disease due to the pattern of fast food consumption. The presence of so many fast foods joints has encouraged this behavior especially for the children
· Elimination pattern: No Information
· Activity-exercise pattern: Individuals are actively involved in recreation activities but have very poor physical exercise patterns. This paired with the consumption of fast food such as burgers has led to increase in obesity rates.
· Sleep-rest pattern: The community can be commended for their good sleep patterns people are found resting or asleep early enough, and this enables them to get adequate hours of sleep.
· Cognitive-perceptual pattern: Individuals in the community have good Cognitive-perceptual patterns, and this is evident through proper language development as well as memory.
· Self-perception–self-concept pattern: The concept of self-esteem is slowly falling for individuals in the community. This is as a result of lifestyle diseases such as obesity which people are experiencing right from a young age. This leads to the formation of negative attitudes towards self.

It is estimated that more than 450 million people in the world are affected by ‘disorders of the mind’, manifested by emotional or mental distress. The challenges for prevention and healing are significant, ranging from the social stigma that prevents people from seeking help, a lack of awareness in people themselves, insufficient resources and trained professionals, and the lack of culturally informed assessment and support.
As the world experiences unprecedented social and demographic change, wellbeing (‘social capital’) has risen up the political agenda for a complex mix of philosophical and economic factors. At the personal level, wellbeing enables us to live fulfilled lives.
CAREIF with the WPA conducted an international WELLBEING Survey to understand more about what constitutes ‘wellbeing’ in different cultures and settings, and how we can enhance personal wellbeing for individual and social benefit. This report will be launched at a CAREIF celebratory reception in the House of Lords (UK) on 26 October 2016.

There were few associations between lifestyle causal beliefs about obesity and any of the sociodemographic or health-related characteristics assessed.

This study is based on the Ecological Systems Theory and Family and Community Systems perspectives, which emphasize the need to consider the effects of individual, family, community, and societal factors on health and social outcomes (Bronfenbrenner & Morris, 1988; Campbell, Hesketh, & Davison, 2010; Elder et al., 2007; Fulkerson et al., 2015; Novilla, Barnes, De La Cruz, Williams, & Rogers, 2006; Valente, 2012).
This study contributes to the literature in several ways and emphasizes that peers and families are important sources of influence when it comes to healthy eating and choices of activities in young adolescents. Specifically, adolescents who reported a stronger connection with their family also engaged more frequently in physical activity than adolescents who reported lower familism. The benefits of targeting the family as part of lifestyle interventions are well established (Epstein, Paluch, Roemmich, & Beecher, 2007; Skelton, Buehler, Irby, & Grzywacz, 2012; St Jeor, Perumean-Chaney, Sigman-Grant, Williams, & Foreyt, 2002). The rationale underlying family-centered approaches is that modification of the youth’s environment is necessary to change and maintain children’s healthy habits. As a primary source of socialization, parents not only influence youths’ healthy lifestyle in providing access to resources and in modeling and reinforcing healthy habits, but they also provide the basis for the development of healthy peer relationships. Conceivably, stronger family connections may operate directly on young adolescents’ physical activity, but also indirectly in establishing the foundations for healthy peer relationships, which in turn promote healthier diet and a less sedentary lifestyle.

When we interact, we talk to each other, we learn from each other. Just as we observe others, they also observe us and we together experience the interaction. How we react in it, what we learn from it leads us to create meaning, new ideas and information that we add to our knowledge database, our experience. This shapes us - our ways, our personalities. Formally we can learn from a rigid set of instructions like in classrooms or on training programs as companies provide their employees. Informally, we always get socialized every day, as long as we interact with others or learn about our world. We even get socialized through the media - TV, radio, internet - we get to know ourselves, our world and discover who we are and who we are not via this. This is because society is a social agency where socialization happens and we as individuals are social agents.
Drawing from the notion of social agency, it means that as an individual, I impact people around me be they immediate (i.e. my family, friends) or secondary (people in my church, people in my school). Public Health as a social concern from an individual viewpoint is something that a person chooses to pay attention to, for the purpose of managing risk for the self and for his family/community. If for example I have an outgoing personality, and I am genetically predisposed to have the allergies on the onset of Spring due to Pollen and I suffer from it, I would more than likely take up an advocacy to help children and others who suffer the same, especially if I am in that particular stage of life - the late adult stage where I am seeking to care for others, to leave a legacy. I would probably band together with others who have the same concerns and create awareness programs in the community or to move certain things to happen - i.e. free clinics to help sufferers, creation of Smartphone Apps that measure pollen concentration in the air, etc. Essentially, individual factors are those attributes that one has that can likely impact his or her social agent actions with regards to a particular concern (i.e. Public Health) to the self and to the community. Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune Disease
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

The Electrocardiogram - Physiologic Principles
These lecture slides, by Dr Sidra Arshad, offer a quick overview of the physiological basis of a normal electrocardiogram.
Learning objectives:
1. Define an electrocardiogram (ECG) and electrocardiography
2. Describe how dipoles generated by the heart produce the waveforms of the ECG
3. Describe the components of a normal electrocardiogram of a typical bipolar lead (limb II)
4. Differentiate between intervals and segments
5. Enlist some common indications for obtaining an ECG
6. Describe the flow of current around the heart during the cardiac cycle
7. Discuss the placement and polarity of the leads of electrocardiograph
8. Describe the normal electrocardiograms recorded from the limb leads and explain the physiological basis of the different records that are obtained
9. Define mean electrical vector (axis) of the heart and give the normal range
10. Define the mean QRS vector
11. Describe the axes of leads (hexagonal reference system)
12. Comprehend the vectorial analysis of the normal ECG
13. Determine the mean electrical axis of the ventricular QRS and appreciate the mean axis deviation
14. Explain the concepts of current of injury, J point, and their significance

- 11. Conclusion Despite these limitations, the present study contributes to our understanding of how social support influences academic engagement among Latino youth. Given the contrasting findings between our study and previous cross-sectional work, this study underscores the importance of longitudinal research. Latino subgroups reported varying levels of academic engagement, with Cuban youth reporting the highest levels. Teacher support emerged as a consistent predictor of academic engagement, particularly for Mexican American youth. Family support was also important for promoting academic engagement, whereas peer support had both positive and negative impacts. Taken together, results underscore the need to examine subgroup differences among Latino youth and suggest that programs aiming to improve school performance should tailor content for diverse Latino subgroups.

- 17. Results The results indicate that more time spent viewing messages promoting health behaviors led to a shift in attitudes toward the suggested health behavior. Somewhat surprisingly, this effect did not depend on source credibility exposure to both messages from a highly credible source and messages from low-credibility sources had this effect.
