Homonym Homophone
• A word that is said or
spelled the same way but
has a different meaning.
• A word that is pronounced
the same as another word
but differs in meaning. All
homonyms are
homophones.
Homonyms: example
• Pole:Citizen of Poland/wooden pole
• Bark:Tough outer covering of a tree/explosive cry
of dog or fox.
• Block:A large solid piece of hard material/a large
single building subdivided into separate flats.
Kind: type/caring.
Right :correct/direction opposite of left.
Spring :a season/coiled metal.
Band: a musical group/a ring.
Bat: an implement used to hit a ball/a nocturnal
flying mammal
• Rock : Genre of
music/a stone.
• Tire: To grow
fatigued/part of a
wheel.
• Bright : Very smart
or intelligent/filled
with light.
Homophones :Examples
• Bean,Been : Bean is an edible seed & Been is
past tense of be.
• Maize,Maze : Maize is corn & Maze is
labyrinth.
• Hare,Hair: Hare is an animal looks like a huge
rabbit & Hair is something grows from the skin
of humans and other animals.

Soul is spirit,the immortal part of a human.
