Q. No. 1 Discuss the meaning and aspects of creativity. Explain the Investment and
Confluence theory of creativity
Answer: Creativity happens when someone comes up with a creative idea. An example would be
a creative solution to a difficult problem.
The complex phenomenon of creativity has been defined as “the ability to produce work
that is both novel (i.e., original, unexpected) and appropriate (i.e., useful, adaptive
concerning task constraints)”
Creativity is the ability to generate, create, or discover new ideas, solutions, and possibilities. Very
creative people often have intense knowledge about something, work on it for years, look at novel
solutions, seek out the advice and help of other experts, and take risks. Although creativity is often
associated with the arts, it is actually a vital form of intelligence that drives people in many
disciplines to discover something new. Creativity can be found in every area of life, from the way
you decorate your residence to a new way of understanding how a cell works.
Aspects of Creativity
Creativity is sometimes broken up into convergent and divergent thinking. Convergent and
divergent thinking are two poles on a spectrum of cognitive approaches to problems and questions.
• Convergent thinking involves aiming fora single, correct solution to a problem, whereas
• Divergent thinking involves creative generation of multiple answers to a set problem.
Through convergent & divergent thinking, creativity is facilitated.
Torrance (1966, 1974) outlined six aspects of creativity to establish Torrance Tests of Creative

It has been observed empirically that children who are kept isolated from the language for their
formative years are unable to learn how to speak, ever. Now, while this validates the critical – age
hypothesis to a certain extent, it also goes on to question the innateness of language.
Further, the very notion of the poverty of stimulus argument has some design flaws, which make
it an extremely controversial argument. The entire argument rests on the premise of complication
and messiness in language, but new research findings have shown that even though there is a
degree of ‘choppiness’ to speech, that is not always the case, leading to the conclusion that the
degree of maladroitness we portray in speech is simply an escalation of Chomskyans’
commitments.
There is also the question of what role intelligence plays in language ability. While it is very
evident that there is a positive correlation between intelligence and linguistic capability, to what
extent is the lack of one dependent on that of the other? Empirically, there is a strong connection
here as well, which puts in place an intelligence gradient to language, that had been ignored by
researchers for a long time. (939 Words)

Q. No. 6 Describe the goals and research methods in cognitive psychology.
Answer: Goals of Research
One has to understand cognitive psychology research goals to understand cognitive psychologists'
approaches. These goals include data collection, data analysis, theory creation, hypothesis
formation, hypothesis testing, and maybe application outside the study area.
However, most cognitive psychologists seek to know more than cognition. They study thinking's
how and why. Thus, researchers aim to explain and describe cognition. Cognitive psychologists
must go from observations to inferences to get beyond descriptions.
Research Methods in Cognitive Psychology
A number of methods are employed in cognitive psychology in order to get an insight into the
workings of higher mental processes.
1. Experiments – A researcher manipulates a variable to see how it affects another in an

difficult.
Signs and symptoms of dysarthria vary, depending on the underlying cause and the type of
dysarthria, and may include:
• Slurred speech
• Slow speech
• Inability to speak louder than a whisper or speaking too loudly
• Rapid speech that is difficult to understand
• Nasal, raspy or strained voice
• Uneven or abnormal speech rhythm

Q. No. 18 Luchin’s water jar problem
Answer: Luchin's Water Jar Problems refer to a set of mathematical puzzles that involve the
concept of measuring and transferring water between different-sized jars to achieve a specific
volume. These problems are often used as brain teasers or logical thinking exercises.
Luchin's Water Jar Problems can have variations with different jar sizes and target volumes. The
objective is to determine the sequence of pouring and transferring water that allows you to measure
the desired volume accurately. These problems can be quite challenging and require logical
reasoning and problem-solving skills to find the correct solution. (93 Words)

No. 1 Discuss the meaning and aspects of creativity. Explain the Investment and Confluence theory of creativity Answer: Creativity happens when someone comes up with a creative idea. An example would be a creative solution to a difficult problem. The complex phenomenon of creativity has been defined as “the ability to produce work that is both novel (i.e., original, unexpected) and appropriate (i.e., useful, adaptive concerning task constraints)” Creativity is the ability to generate, create, or discover new ideas, solutions, and possibilities. Very creative people often have intense knowledge about something, work on it for years, look at novel solutions, seek out the advice and help of other experts, and take risks. Although creativity is often associated with the arts, it is actually a vital form of intelligence that drives people in many disciplines to discover something new. Creativity can be found in every area of life, from the way you decorate your residence to a new way of understanding how a cell works. Assignment Container Cognitive Psychology (MPC-001) Page 12 of 26 www.springseason.in It has been observed empirically that children who are kept isolated from the language for their formative years are unable to learn how to speak, ever. Now, while this validates the critical – age hypothesis to a certain extent, it also goes on to question the innateness of language. Further, the very notion of the poverty of stimulus argument has some design flaws, which make it an extremely controversial argument. The entire argument rests on the premise of complication and messiness in language, but new research findings have shown that even though there is a degree of ‘choppiness’ to speech, that is not always the case, leading to the conclusion that the degree of maladroitness we portray in speech is simply an escalation of Chomskyans’ commitments. There is also the question of what role intelligence plays in language ability. While it is very evident that there is a positive correlation between intelligence and linguistic capability, to what extent is the lack of one dependent on that of the other? Empirically, there is a strong connection here as well, which puts in place an intelligence gradient to language, that had been ignored by researchers for a long time.
