The Name for Allah is Ar-Ra'oof means the Most Kind, the
Tenderly Merciful, the Clement and Compassionate. The One
Who bestows boundless Clemency, Tenderness and Affection;
the One Who shows the utmost Compassion, Pity and tender
Mercy; the One Whose Gentleness, Kindness and Mercy are
beyond understanding.
From the root r-a'-f which has the following classical Arabic
connotations:
to be kind, gentle, clement
to be merciful, compassionate

The term Ar-Ra'oof indicates tender affection and is
regarded as utmost mercy and compassion, the ultimate limit of
Ar-Raheem. The meaning is similar to Ar-Raheem, but focuses
attention on the utmost tenderness, kindness and affection
which accompanies the outpouring of mercy and compassion.
Al-Ghazali mentioned that Ar-Ra'oof has pity, and that pity
is the intensification of mercy. Ar-Ra'oof is the One Who bestows
pity and mercy on us in many different forms, including warnings
and withholding, for us to be guided to success in this world and
the next!
Allaah ‫سبحانه‬
‫وتعالى‬ says in Surat al-Baqarah (2) Ayah 143:
"...And Allaah would never make your faith to be lost. Truly,
Allaah is full of Kindness, the Most Merciful towards mankind."

Of the ten times Allaah’s ‫سبحانه‬
‫وتعالى‬ Name Ar-Ra'oof is
mentioned, eight times is with His Name Ar-Raheem (The
Bestower of Mercy) in the Qur'aan. After a calamity hits us, Ar-
Raheem has Mercy on us. Ra’fa refers to Allaah ‫سبحانه‬
‫وتعالى‬
taking care of us and warning us so that we can protect
ourselves from His own punishment.
Allaah ‫سبحانه‬
‫وتعالى‬ says in Surat Aal-E-airman (3) Ayah 30:
"On the Day when every person will be confronted with all the
good he has done, and all the evil he has done, he will wish that
there were a great distance between him and his evil. And
Allaah warns you against Himself (His Punishment) and Allaah is
full of Kindness to the (His) slaves."

we turn to Him.
