Description of the group: Grade 6A. Beginning level of English language
proficiency. State primary school. 80-minutes a week. There are fifteen students in
the class (7 girls and 8 boys). Students’ age: 11-12-13 years old. There are a couple
of students that represent a challenge for the teacher as they normally misbehave
hindering the teaching and the flow of the lesson. There are occasions when they
show certain interest in the activities planned by the teacher, although, there are a
constant effort to get their attention to carry out the activities.

Introduction
In this lesson, young learners will be introduced with a board game as a stirrer
since they normally come back from lunch in a sleepy mood. The lesson has as
main aim revising prior knowledge as well as integrating the new one. They will be
working in 2 groups as to encourage collaboration, team work, the combination of
different roles and aptitudes, integration, cooperation and friendly competition. This
activity not only involves visual and auditory response on the part of the students
but also total physical response and speech production. Afterwards, they will work
on an activity from the booklet related to the parts of the house as a settler and to
finish the lesson.
Procedure
Introducing the board game ● The whole class will be divided in
2 groups.
● We will give each group a
headband with a different colour
to differentiate each member of
the group.
4. Explaining and playing the game
(25 to 30 minutes)
● Each group will have a name
which is going to be selected by
the members of each group and
which will represent them.
● One member of each group rolls
the dice, and the highest number
determines who plays first.
● The game board pattern is a
spiral of 46 fields, from the
outside to the inside. Most of the
fields have questions and
commands related to the topics
(parts of the body, school objects,
members of the family, parts of
the house, numbers, colours).
There are some special hazards
or benefits for players who land
on some specific fields.
● The object of the game is to
travel along the spiral from field 1
to field 46, and the first group

● On each turn, a member of the
group rolls the dice and advances
the counter along the spiral by as
many fields as the sum of the

Introduction
This lesson will consist of a series of three activities: a song, a crossword and a
bingo, in order to strengthen and reinforce the knowledge acquired so far regarding
to the parts of the house. The activity related to the song stimulates kinetic and
auditory among other skills that will facilitate the vocabulary through experiences
