2. Greece officially the Hellenic Republic, historically also known as Hellas, is a country in Southern Europe,
with a population of approximately 11 million as of 2016.
Athens is the nation's capital and largest city.
3. Geographical Data
Greece is located at the crossroads of
Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Situated on the southern tip of the
Balkan peninsula, it shares land borders
with Albania to the northwest, the
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to
the northeast.
The Aegean Sea lies to the east of the
mainland, the Ionian Sea to the west,
the Cretan Sea and the Mediterranean
Sea to the south.
Greece has the longest coastline on the
Mediterranean Basin and the 11th
longest coastline in the world at
13,676 km (8,498 mi) in length,
featuring a large number of islands, of
which 227 are inhabited.
80% of Greece consists of mountains or
hills, making the country one of the
most mountainous in Europe.

11. Our school is built in a suburb full of pine-trees and palm-trees just a few minutes walk from
the seaside. There is a big school yard quite comfortable for our 270 students. There are
also a basketball court and volleyball playground.
22. Ultimate respect and acceptance of difference is systematically
cultivated and taught among our students.
23. We were really touched by the refugees “kite program” which was held last year . All in all
our students in co-operation with Action-aid created kites and wrote love – acceptance –
solidarity messages for the refugee kids all over the world. Thus, they sent their love,
affection and compassion to their peers and possible fellow students one day.
