5. The following types of waste plastic can be used
in the construction of the rural roads:
• Films(carry bags and cups) thickness up to 60
micron(PE,PP,&PS)
• Hard foams (PS) any thickness
• soft foams (PS & PP) any thickness
• Laminated plastics thickness up to 60 micron
(Aluminium coated also) packing materials used
for biscuits ,chocolates,etc .,
• Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) sheets or Flux sheets
should not be used in any case.

7. Shredding machine – Cutting to required
size Plastic waste- Cleaning process -Plastics
waste (bags, cups, thermocole) made out of
PE,PP and PS cut into a size between 2.36mm
and 4.75mm using shredding machine ,(PVC
waste should be eliminated).
10. • Aggregate is transferred to chamber –
Aggregate heated - The aggregates mix is
heated upto a maximum of 165 degree
celcious (as per the HRS specification) and
transferred to mixing chamber.
• Similarly the bitumen is to be heated upto a
maximum of 160 degree celcious (HRS
specification) to have a good binding and to
preovent weak bonding .(Monitoring the
temperature is very important).

12. • Coated aggregates waste plastics mixed
with hot aggregate . At the mixing
chamber ,the shredded plastics waste is
to be added. It get coated uniformly
over the aggregate within 30 – 60
seconds , giving an oily look.

14. • Road Laying Process Aggregates –
The plastic bitumen mix bitumen added.
The plastic waste coated aggregate is mixed
with got bitumen and the resulted mix is used
for road construction . The road laying
temperature is between 110 degree celcious
to 120 degree celcious . The roller used is 8 -
ton capacity .

Plant can be used.
• Only aggregate is polymer coated and
bitumen is not modified.
• Use of 60/70 and 80/90 bitumen is possible.
• No evolution of any toxic gases like dioxin.
• Fly ash can also be used to give a better
performance

for storage
• Use backs of paper or backs of used envelopes
for jotting notes
• Put leftovers in resalable containers instead of
using wraps and foil
• Use old clothes as rags for cleaning instead of
paper towels
• Have a garage sale or donate clothes, books or
toys that you don't use anymore
