Universal Declaration of Human Rights came into existence after World War Ii

fundamental principles that assist in a democratic society (Human Rights, 2016).
This document is used and respected by the government and people all over the
world. The similarities in the freedom struggle and the declaration of human
rights is that they are both for equality. Not only are they both for equality, they
strive for rights for all people across the world.
4. CIVIL RIGHTS VS POLITICAL RIGHTS
• Civil Rights according to Merriam Webster (2016) is the rights every person
should have regardless of his or her sex, race, or religion
• Political rights according to Merriam Webster (2016) is the rights that involve
participation in the establishment or administration of a government and are
usually held to entitle the adult citizen to exercise of the franchise, the
holding of public office and other political activities
5. CIVIL RIGHTS VS HUMAN RIGHTS CONTINUED
Civil rights, political rights, and human rights are all relative in the mission to be
accomplished for all people all over the world. The rights of all people is the
common denominator. While Civil rights may have been geared towards the
equality of black and minorities and political rights are geared towards people
being apart of the government and directly involved with creating laws, they are all
for the rights of humans.
Human rights are universal in making sure that all people all over the world have
rights they are entitled to along with the freedom that comes along with it. These
rights include to be able to get an education, the right to express yourself, the
right to vote, and the right to come together and fellowship.
6. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND DIVERSITY
Affirmative Action was implemented due to the discrimination and unfair
treatment in the past of minority due to their race and sexual orientation. Due
to affirmative action being put in place, there are more opportunities for
minorities in the areas of jobs and education.
Diversity is the coming together of different nationalities and cultures in an
effort for everyone to get a better understanding of their background,
company, and/or culture. The coming together of different nationalities allows
for better communication, increased level of respect, and ways to improve in
the respective environment.
7. INFLUENCE AND AFFECT ON ADULT EDUCATION
The affects and influence of Civil Rights, Political Rights, Human Rights,
Affirmative Action, and Diversity has had an affect on adult education. Being
able to continue one’s education without being discriminated against is a sign
of positive influence and affect that they world is evolving.
Diversity and affirmative action has allowed for people all across the world to
come together, communicate, learn, solve problems, and gain a respect for all
parties involved. Without affirmative action, things like this would not have
been able to take place for the minorities.
Political rights have allowed individuals who want to be apart of the
government an opportunity to do so while suggesting that laws be put in place
that will continue the equality, growth, and education of all people.
