Civil Supervisor
Scope of Responsibilities:
Leads and supervisors a team of civil and Structural Engineers as well as sub-
contractors towards the completion of all civil and structural activities related to
projects in line with QC, client specifications, and schedules.
Duties:
• Study and understand the project plan and client requirements including equipment to
be used, specifications and procurement plan as well as prepare the Method
statements and ITP.
• Plan the construction activities along with the construction manager as well as the
various discipline engineers in line with the project plan.
• Instruct the contractors and the sub contractors on the project requirements and share
the project plan with them.
• Prepare the material procurement plan for the civil requirements and coordinate with
the project procurement manager and the materials controller to ensure the
availability of the same.
• Assign Civil Engineers to respective areas or activity as per the requirements of the
project.
• Sign permits and instruct sub-contractors on the work to be done for the day as well as
carry out the toolbox talk.
• On completion of each phase of the construction, inspect and ensure it’s in line with
client’s requirements.
• Coordinate with the QC supervisor/ Inspector for inspection of construction.
• Interact with the commissioning team for the commissioning of equipment as per
client’s requirements and ensure any pending issues with regards to civil are resolved.
• Generate reports on a daily and weekly basis on the status of the project with regards
to civil.
• Attend weekly meetings with the discipline engineers and Construction manager to
resolve any outstanding issues and take corrective action wherever required.
• Coordinate with the certification engineer for the certification requirements of the
client and ensure that all certificates are obtained and documented for easy access
during audits.
• Coordinate with the client on the project – civil requirements and provide feedback on
the status and seeks inputs wherever required.
• Coordinate with the Contracts and the subcontracts managers and administrators for
the generation of variation claims.
• Carry out evaluation of subcontractors and provide feedback for improvement.
• Carry out any other activities as and when required by the supervisor.
