When you watch and listen with the purpose of determining and evaluating the message about
what is being viewed and listened, you are engaged in critical thinking. When you watch, you
must listen carefully for you to decide the positive and negative messages of what you are
watching.
In this lesson, you will learn the Most Essential Learning Competency which is to discern
positive and negative messages conveyed in a material viewed.
Objectives:
1. identify the positive and negative messages of a sentence/text, picture or video;
2. state the positive and negative messages of a video viewed;
3. write positive and negative messages based on a video watched.

Video Analysis:
Analyzing a video is similar to that of a photo. However, in this lesson, we will apply the
following steps to make more sense in conveying the messages of videos more critically. A video
can be an animation, a movie, or a music video.

Step 1: Anticipate From the title alone, what do you think is the video all about?
Step 2: Meet the video Identify the type of video (animation, a documentary, a movie, a music
video, etc.) and its purpose (informative, entertainment, news report, etc).
Step 3: Observe its parts List the people, objects and activities you see

Reality - are the things in life that are commonly observed and verified to exist, things
that are consistent and not random or influenced by conformity or mass hysteria.
Something that is perceived as real and is physically experienced by the senses.
Fantasy - the power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental
images in response to psychological need an object of fantasy also: a mental image or a
series of mental images (such as a daydream).

Student’s Analysis:
The moral lesson of the story of The Lion and the Mouse is that and act of kindness, is will never
be wasted. As we analyze the comic strip, we come up with the idea that its moral lesson lies on
the story itself. Its moral lesson rise up on the part where the lion forgive the small mouse for
ruining his sleep, despite of his killer instinct to kill the mouse.

Its moral lesson rise up on the part where the lion forgive the small mouse for ruining his sleep, despite of his killer instinct to kill the mouse.
