Heart of Doha (Phases 1, 2,3 &4)
Arup is working as principal consultant, supported by EDAW, for the detailed master plan stage
of a major project to generate an important district known as the Heart of Doha, Qatar. It is
strategically placed adjacent to the royal palace and the centre of government (Amiri Diwan), and
is close to the Bay and the main historic Souq Waqef. The redevelopment of the 35 hectare district
aims to merge traditional and modern themes in a sustainable, high quality, mixed-use district
that will set a new benchmark of civic pride for Doha. Total cost of the project approx. 5.5billion$
project. Worked with international Consultant like Foster & Partners and many other
International Consultants.
Qatar National Museum
Arup has been appointed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel to develop engineering design documentation
to design development (DD) stage towards the construction of the New Qatar National Museum
located in Doha, Qatar. Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) is the end-user client and Qatar
Petroleum (QP) is administering the contract and design process on their behalf. Total area of
the site 15.9 hectares /159,000 sq.m. and Building covered area – 34,773 sqm. Worked with
Ateliers Nouvel Architectural team in Qatar
Sheraton park site, Doha
The project comprises of area 227.400 sq.m. with 2,200 car park spaces and integral
landscaping. Responsibility as an Architect/ Project Coordinator includes: Working with
Signature Architects as the liaison architect from Doha, Qatar and coordination of detail design
package; providing & coordinating existing site utilities and Qatar regulations & codes into the
design; scheduling and participating in meetings with local authorities such as UPDA, Ashghal,
Ministry of Environment, Civil Defense, Q-Tel, Kahramaa, etc.; participating in all meetings with
client, the design architect and engineering teams from different locations; review of sub-
consultants design submittals.

Supreme Education Council Headquarters
Responsibility includes: Spatial planning of the various institutes in the SEC and further
development of the design; preliminary design, coordinating design development with other
architectural disciplines (structural, electrical, mechanical) and construction procedures.
Ramada Hotel Extension, Doha
The US$40 Million extension to the Ramada Doha comprises a new hotel built over twelve floors
in two wings. Facilities include 237 bedrooms (including four Arabic, Japanese, English and
Scottish theme suites), 2 penthouse apartments, three large banqueting suites, two hospitality
suite bars, six restaurants, splash pool and fitness centre.
Design phase responsibility includes: Schematic and design development; prepares and monitor
project estimate; responsible for the production of design drawings and working drawings;
coordinates design development with other architectural disciplines; handles all procurement
included in contract documents for the construction of the project; attends to all of the project’s
purchases and sub contract deals; prepares architectural details for shop fabrication; delivering
tender package.

Construction phase responsibility as Resident site engineer includes: Site supervision, prepares
inspection report and cutting list of materials; liaising with multi-disciplinary site based
engineering team and HQ based team(project manager) and the Contractor( including sub-
contractors & suppliers); handles project site supervision and construction; resolving urgent
design- construction issues; coordination and implementation of all interior design works;
responsible for the coordination and completion of the structure.

Durrat Al-Bahrain Residential Complex, Bahrain
The US$1 Billion urban design development project aims to create a resort city. Part of the team
comprising of architects from U.K, Germany and Qatar responsible for preparing master plan
and conceptual details of main towers within.
Responsibility includes: Research and concept design development; preparation and compilation
of the Durrat Al Bahrain presentation book.
National Convention Centre Car Park- Qatar Foundation
The US$55 Million prestigious project of the Qatar Foundation accommodating 3000 car park
spaces, coach parking spaces and taxis with an underpass tunnel linking the car park to the
National Convention Centre.
Responsibility includes: Schematic and design development; preparation of detailed design
drawings; coordination of design development with other architectural disciplines; preparation
of detailed specifications; selection of materials and finishes for the building elements.
National Data Centre, Education City for Qatar Petroleum
A US$27 Million Tier IV Data Center with 4 no. data halls each 600 sq.m, supported by an
ancillary office structure to house 3200 sq.m. of office space.
Responsibility includes: Schematic and design development.
Gulf Helicopters- Al Khor Airport
A project by the GHC for relocation of helicopter operating base to Al Khor on a site approx 39.5
ha.
Responsibility includes: Concept design and spatial planning of the terminal building and liaising
with the client for further amendments; preparation of the schematic drawings in Revit 9
software; preparation of the concept design stage report and the PowerPoint presentation for
the client submission.
