1. Q Monthly Newsletter
Type of work: Conceptualising, researching and
writing a regular newsletter
Strategy: To bring the outside world in, and
inspire us in our work
Tactics:
Web based research into the latest consumer
healthcare trends, innovative technology and
popular social media campaigns on sites like
trendhunter.com and trendwatching.com
Source photos to compliment relevant articles
Use Photoshop to edit relevant photos so these can
be uploaded onto the Source
Upload article content and photos onto the Source
and tag with relevant key terms
Create newsletter email and hyperlink online
articles so that they can be easily accessed
Send out newsletter email to distribution list
Reflections: I really enjoyed the research for this
project as I was able to search through very
interesting sites and find inspiring content to write
about. I found that the articles that worked the best
had very short, snappy titles and had YouTube videos
and other links to delve further in. I also developed
my skills in Photoshop whilst creating the newsletter
email which I found very difficult at first.
Objectives: To produce a monthly
newsletter featuring inspirational pieces
of news including stories about the latest
creative PR campaigns, competitor
updates, and Social Media trends
Audience targeted: GSK communications
employees
Involvement: I write, upload and source
these articles myself
Evaluation: This newsletter has proved to
be popular as it brings the outside world
in
Read rate examples:
Unilever’s hair quartet (85%)*
P&G Smart Toothbrush (79%)*
The Smart Spoon (69%)*

from the 68 person distribution list
“I have to say you

love to draw eggs from what you
do, Once again, good work! (Eileen
