Taoti Creative - Using Drupal to Create a Gamified Training
How do you take a training exercise about a dense, complicated topic, and turn it into something engaging that participants enjoy? Taoti partnered with NARUC, The Clearing, and 3 Energy Regulation experts to develop and implement an innovative effort to create a scenario-based computer simulation to support NARUC and USAID's ongoing training efforts in Africa and abroad. The tool allows groups of users to work through an advanced simulation of an energy regulation scenario. The training facilitators set some initial assumptions and the users make key choices based on these parameters. Through a series of real-world energy regulation scenarios, the simulation provides a realistic outcome of the consequences of the team's choices. Taoti staff traveled to Tanzania in August 2015 to facilitate the initial implementation of this training tool. The tool will continue to be an important part of these training sessions around the globe.
