These 10 photographs with a GREEN box
around them here are images that I think are
the most successful from this shoot. These are
the images that knowing what my plan is for my
teaser poster these are the images that my
models eye is perfectly focussed and ready to
crop and use; this could be due to the fact that
they are perfectly exposed, perfectly focused or
to be down to the fact that they are really sharp
around the eyes.
These images here
with a RED box
around them are
images that could
definitely not be
used no matter
what. There are
many factors to take
into account when
deciding between all
of these images.
These photographs
here are ones that
are either, too dark,
too white (white
balance not correctly
set), too wide (shot
at 24mm), out of
focus, or there is
movement captured
in the image where
the shutter speed
was incorrectly set.
These three images here are really
unsuccessful images because they are
the first set of photographs I took and
therefore was still trying to get my
camera settings correct and
unfortunately the white balance in these
photos was off.
This image is one of the more unique
ones that I took as this was one of the
only images that was completely out of
focus due to the shutter speed on my
camera being set really slow and
therefore the camera captured quite a lot
of movement.
These photographs which I have highlighted
here in AMBER don’t have anything really
‘special’ about them, these images are
images that I have decided are going to need
slightly more editing than the ones in GREEN
and therefore I have decided that if I need to
edit them because the ones in green are
slightly different to what I wanted then I would
edit these.

These specific RED photographs are ones that I have
decided to filter out these ones due to the fact that I
have so many and needed to be harsh about what
ones I got rid of for this angle. However on the whole,
these images are really nicely exposed and focussed.
The photographs in which I have highlighted in a
GREEN Box are the images that I have decided are
the ones that are good enough to edit. These photos
are perfectly exposed, perfectly focussed and there is
no movement involved within the photograph.
The photographs that I have highlighted with an
AMBER box are photos that are Good enough to edit if
need be however I would prefer to edit the ones in
green. This set of images here are ones that are very
similar to the ones in the 3 rows above them. I have
decided for these ones specifically that the ones in
green are more useful just because the ones in green
are slightly lit in a way that I prefer for this poster.
When on the shoot I did not like the way my light was
on some of the images so I took the time to adjust the
studio lighting and add a ring light behind me facing
the model so there was a little bit more light on the
other parts of the model that weren’t lit by the studio
lights.
For these photos these were the ones that were the
best ones from this whole shoot. These are the set of
photos that were the most perfectly focussed and have
the best lighting within the photos and are the best
composed due to moving the tripod and camera to use
the rule of thirds. This is why I will be going ahead with
this set of photographs.
Although some of these photographs are highlighted in
GREEN and AMBER I have decided that these
photographs are completely wrong and will definitely
not be used. This is because where I told the model to
hold the hat for the shoot is not in the best position and
cannot really be seen and after editing the hat will more
than likely be lost within the background as I used a
black background with a black top hat.

These 7 photographs in which I have
highlighted in RED are images that I will not
be using because of the orientation which I
took my photographs in. I just got carried
away when taking my photographs and
therefore flipped the camera on the tripod to
take some portrait photographs.
This first photograph in GREEN that I took is the perfect photograph for this
poster and will probably be the photograph I decide to take forward onto the front
of my poster. This photo is perfectly exposed. There is no movement caused by
the wind and then having a slow shutter speed causing the camera to capture
that movement in the image. The image is also perfectly focussed and is just all
round the perfect image for this poster.
These final images that are highlighted
in a RED box are images that will not
be considered what so ever. For the
majority of these photographs it was
because of the fact that I had set my
camera with a slow shutter speed and
therefore unfortunately captured the
movement in the photograph. Some
were also quite overly exposed which
was did not make a good image.
There was also the issue that there
was quite a large amount of dust on
my sensor and this slow shutter speed
brought that out.
These 4 photographs in which I have
highlighted here in RED are images that I
will definitely not be using. It is quite
frustrating as to the reason in which I will
not be using these images because they
are perfectly exposed, perfectly edited
and yet still I cannot use them. This is
due to an issue where the female model
was wearing quite a loose short summer
dress on quite a breezy/ windy day and
therefore the wind managed to catch her
skirt and cause the front of her skirt to fly
up. This is why I will definitely NOT be
using these 4 images.
These photographs that are
highlighted in AMBER are
images that like stated are
images I could potentially
use. There is nothing wrong
with these photos,
photographically it is just that
the models facial expression
is a bit off perhaps or just
there was something going
on in the background that I
didn’t feel was appropriate
for this poster.
These photographs here in GREEN are also
photographs that I have decided I am going to
have a look at and edit and see which one
comes out the best out of all the photographs
in green.

To create this photograph I set my camera to manual mode which
meant I had full control over the settings of the camera and how the
images came out. This is the image I have chosen to edit as this is the
image that came out the best for the vibe of the poster.
I wanted to capture a photograph of a human eye that I can then crop
to be the only thing on the poster. This image worked out really well as
I was able to get the eye and eyelashes perfectly focussed.
The meaning I wanted behind this image is that from my film it is a
sense of never being alone and someone is always watching, that is
why I made the decision to capture a photograph of a human eye
which I can then edit into the centre of my teaser poster. The sense of
never being alone helps link back to the horror genre as the audience
then feel uneasy.

In this image I intended to capture my model looking scared and shocked while
holding the top hat. That I managed to capture however what I didn’t take into
account was the fact that my camera was not level. This is due to me not paying
enough attention. This is however the image I have chosen to edit due to the
fact it is perfectly focussed, exposed and I can really easily rotate the image
slightly to make it level.
The meaning behind this image was to capture how from the ending of my film
the protagonist ends up dead. This poster here really shows the antithesis of
that where the protagonist is the one holding the item from the antagonist. This
then links back to the horror genre as it gives off an uneasy feel to the audience.
My camera was set to manual mode when capturing this image which is why
the ISO is so high and the aperture is so low. When in fact I could have raised
the aperture to a higher number which would have let more light into the image
and then I could have raised the shutter speed and lowered the ISO.

For this image I intended to create an image where the protagonist and antagonist were stood together however the
protagonist has no idea that the antagonist is there with her. I chose this location because I wanted somewhere urban
and that had a lot of people walking through at all times which is exactly like Times Square New York.
The meaning behind this poster was to capture the
ending of the film in a poster. The protagonist has no
idea that the antagonist is there and is about to kill her.
Although in the film it isn’t actually shown the
antagonist killing her it is just heavily implied.
This then links back to the horror genre as the poster
has an unknowing sort of feel to it.
This is the image I have chosen as the models are not
posing for the camera and therefore it looks the best
for this poster.
